I started writing this album during a monthlong visit to Berlin to meet my just-born granddaughter, Lola Simone. Oh what a joyful time it was. So much newness for me and my wife, Susan. That’s where I wrote ’What Am I Doing In Berlin, ‘Hello Lola’, and the joyfully absurd 'Everybody Wants My Hat’.
Since I’ve been home, there’s been so much to think about and write about while living under the shadow of Covid 19. This forced meditation has reminded me over and over again about what really matters. And what doesn’t.
Its my hope that listeners will feel my music as a celebration of the love we have to share. Heart to heart, on we go with ‘Tears of Joy’.
