![]() Professor Louie & The Crowmatix return to our outdoor stage with their signature blend of rock, rhythm & blues—music that continues to expand the boundaries of Americana. Performing since 2000 and averaging 150 shows a year, this Grammy-nominated Woodstock All-Star group brings songs from their new album Crowin’ Around, along with classics from Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, The Band. The group originated as the studio band for producer and musician Aaron "Professor Louie" Hurwitz during his collaboration with The Band. Bassist Rick Danko nicknamed him “Professor Louie” in tribute to his contributions. Louie later co-produced The Band’s final three albums in the 1990s. The Crowmatix have released 17 albums on Woodstock Records. Their latest, Crowin’ Around (2025), includes original songs, reimagined tracks by The Band and others, and a Moondog tribute. ![]() John Simon is an important part of the Woodstock’s music history. He produced, arranged and played on many classic albums including The Band’s “Music from Big Pink”, “The Band”, and “The Last Waltz”, “Cheap Thrills” by Janis Joplin, “Bookends” by Simon & Garfunkel, and the debut albums of Leonard Cohen and Blood, Sweat & Tears, among others. Recently, John and John Sebastian entertained a sold-out crowd at the Bearsville Theater. Afterwards people asked to hear some of his songs and this intimate concert was hastily scheduled.
