Flying Cat Music Presents--Laurie MacAllister of Red Molly
Americana, Singer-Songwriter, and Acoustic
Phoenicia Playhouse
10 Church Street
Phoenicia, NY   See Map
Laurie MacAllister first came to prominence in 2004, as a co-founder of the renowned all-female Americana trio Red Molly, which released seven acclaimed albums and toured both the U.S. and internationally. In late 2024, she launched the latest, solo chapter of her exemplary career with a sold-out performance at the legendary Club Passim.

Her 1st solo album, 2004's "The Things I Choose To Do,” was re-issued by Barnes & Noble saying, "MacAllister wholly inhabits these songs as subtly as a chameleon, convincingly taking on the persona's skin, quite simply singing her heart out.”

"Laurie MacAllister finds the simple heart of a song, embraces it, seeks a deeper understanding and then shares the song with a generous freedom, with beauty and warmth. Whether interpreting other writers, or interpreting life through her own personal lens, her performances are works of delicate grace and honest emotions." Marilyn Rea Beyer, Music Director WUMB FM.

The Down Hill Strugglers at TCCC
Americana, Folk/Traditional. Old time
Tompkins Corners Cultural Center
729 Peekskill Hollow Road
Putnam Valley, NY   See Map
We look forward to The Strugglers' return to our stage. The old time string band is a favorite at TCCC, dating back to 2016 when John Cohen, celebrated musician and our co-founder, brought them here for the first time. John praised their music as combining “the intensity of rural music, while delighting in the nuances that preserve the individual uniqueness of the genre. This is music that will keep your mind dancing.”

Jackson Lynch - fiddle, voice, guitar, Walker Shepard - guitar, voice, fiddle, banjo, and Eli Smith - banjo, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, and pump organ, play old tunes with delightful new interpretations. The Strugglers are featured on the soundtrack to the Coen Brothers film, Inside Llewyn Davis, and Dreamland with Margot Robbie.

Their new album, Old Juniper is described as “a doozy” by Alice Gerrard, with Nathan Salsburg’s additional description of “an exquisite sensitivity to the seam where collective tradition and individual artistry meet.”

Fred Gillen Jr.
Folk/Traditional
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Peekskill native, NYFA (New York Foundation For The Arts) grant recipient Fred Gillen Jr has released nine full-length albums, to great critical acclaim, and has toured all over the U.S. and Europe. His new album, "Canyon of Light" (2024) is his first full length album since 2019.

Fred's songs have been featured on ABC's "All My Children," NPR's "Car Talk," CMJ's New Music Marathon Sampler, and in 2012 his version of Woody Guthrie's "I Ain't Got No Home" was featured on "Pete Remembers Woody," a collection of Pete Seeger's spoken stories about Woody Guthrie. Like Guthrie, his songs often reflect the struggles of the marginalized and forgotten, shining a light on both the despair and hope in the human condition. His live performances are spontaneous celebrations of all that it is to be human, he encourages participation, and he works hard to eliminate the "fourth wall" between performer and audience.

Suggested donation to the musician - $15.

For reservations, call 914-737-1701.

Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online and on the radio, NY   See Map
TOM PAXTON has been a central figure in folk music since the early 60s and remains so today. Though he retired from touring at the end of 2024, he continues to write and co-write at a pace and quality few other songwriters can equal.

DANIEL BOLING, 20 years Tom’s junior, has been very active on the folk scene for two and a half decades, touring internationally, releasing 11 solo albums, and more recently, performing as a member of the 1960s folk trio THE LIMELITERS.

Since becoming friends a few years ago, Tom and Daniel co-write most weeks and have penned at least 75 songs together. 31 of these appear on Daniel’s recent Berkalin Records releases “New Old Friends” (2023) and “IT MATTERS featuring Tom Paxton” (2025), with three of those and two more featured on THE LIMELITERS’ 2025 live album “Until We Can’t Sing Anymore”.

Here's wishing these new old friends many more years and songs together!

A Bronx Tale: The One Man Show starring Chazz PalminteriParamount Hudson Valley Theater
1008 Brown St
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Bronx-born and raised Chazz Palminteri wrote A Bronx Tale in 1988. The powerful one-man stage play depicted his bruising childhood which included witnessing a gangland killing when he was nine years old. Palminteri played 18 characters and brought them all to life in his autobiographical play. His friends, enemies and family came alive on stage. Hollywood Studios went crazy after seeing it and offered him millions of dollars to turn it into a major movie. There was one catch… They wanted to put a star in the role of Sonny and someone else to write the screenplay. With $200 dollars in the bank…Palminteri said No… he would hold out and wait. He wanted to play Sonny and write the screenplay. Then one night Palminteri walked into his dressing room and sitting there was Robert De Niro who just saw the show. Robert DeNiro gave Palminteri the chance he was waiting for… And as they say in Hollywood the rest is history. Palminteri wrote the screenplay for the film A Bronx Tale and then most rec
