The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project was created in 2012 with the goal of maintaining live jazz culture and community in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, The PKJP has presented a weekly jazz jam session accessible to all musicians and fans of live music. Over the past twelve years, the jam has been honored to host hundreds of musicians from the Tri-state area. This event is free to both participants and listeners. All with a passion for jazz are welcome.

Multi-instrumentalist T.K. Blue, also known as Talib Kibwe, was born in New York City of a Trinidadian mother and Jamaican father. A musician of the highest caliber, T.K. Blue was Dr. Randy Weston's chief saxophonist/flutist, arranger, and musical director for over three decades. He also worked with vocal legend Jimmy Scott for close to 10 years until his passing.
T.K.'s artistry is found on over 85 recordings and he has performed with master musicians including Abdullah Ibrahim, Sam Rivers, Dr. Randy Weston, Jimmy Scott, Chico Hamilton, Archie Shepp, Dizzy Gillespie, Pharoah Sanders, Idrees Sulieman, Billy Harper, Dewey Redman, Alex Blake, Jamil Nasser, Idres Muhammad, Big Black, and Azzedin Weston, among others. T.K. Blue has released 12 CDs and has performed at Carnegie Hall, Dizzy's Club Coca Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Iridium, Birdland and in numerous Jazz Festivals around the globe.
