Sunday 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm | Paul Magliari in Concert Acoustic | BeanRunner Cafe 201 S. Division Street @ Esther Peekskill, NY See Map |
Paul JM, a local musician, songwriter, visual artist and sometimes playwright, has been residing in Peekskill for almost 15 years. Mostly drumming for bands such as Vinyl Siding, The Trike, Bear Mountain Sound Machine and bass work for Jazmo, he also performs his own works with guitar and voice. As founder of FUTURE ONE, he has released 2 full-length albums (Lost Mighway, Do We Need Another Psycho).
Paul's lyrics deliver abstract views on human issues inviting the listener to take their own journey. Everything seems so questionable these days and answers that at one time seemed to be easier are getting more blurred along the way. Human existence shouldn't be as complex as we make it out to be. Donations to the musicians are greatly appreciated.

Sunday 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm | Puppets of Castro feat. Andrew Lorand Singer-Songwriter, Comedic, and Contemporary | Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts Online and on the radio, NY See Map |
Andrew Lorand's songs have been described as "intelligent, witty songs, some serious, some hilarious, and some a touch of both" (-Oregon Public Radio). His band, 'Puppets of Castro' has released four albums, with contributing vocals from such singer/songwriter stalwarts as Darryl Purpose, Matthew Mars, and Steve Sills. Lorand grew up in suburban Los Angeles reading Lenny Bruce and listening to Tom Lehrer, resulting in a somewhat skewed musical perspective. An eclectic satirist and keen observer of the humor and pathos found around the darker edges of the human condition, Lorand takes his listeners on a frequently humorous, and often contemplative ride. Dan Bern (Walk Hard-The Dewey Cox Story) describes Lorand's music as "catchy philosophical pop that ranges from radio friendly rockers to tunes that could be a Murakami short story set to music.” The band has maintained a loyal following and a presence in college radio for years.
