Bill Ware is a quiet giant of the vibraphone, praised for his masterful technique, deep groove, and decades of work at the center of New York's jazz scene - a bandleader, composer, and founding member of the Jazz Passengers whose work spans the acid jazz explosion with Groove Collective to touring with Steely Dan.
Joining him is Arturo O'Farrill, a 6-time GRAMMY-winning pianist, composer, and founder of the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, praised by DownBeat as "one of our greatest living pianists" - his 2025 albums both earned GRAMMY nominations, with the Wall Street Journal calling his work "a masterwork." The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project was created in 2012 with the goal of maintaining live jazz culture and community in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, The PKJP has presented a weekly jazz jam session accessible to all musicians and fans of live music. Over the past nine years, the jam has been honored to host hundreds of musicians from the Tri-state area. This event is free to both participants and listeners. All with a passion for jazz are welcome.
