Sunday 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm | In-Studio Guest: Lynn Hollyfield Singer-Songwriter, Folk/Traditional, and Americana | Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts Online and on the radio, NY See Map |
Blend a powerful singer, a crisp acoustic guitar player and a heartfelt observer of the world and you have, singer-songwriter, Lynn Hollyfield.. She wrote her first song after her HS English teacher handed her an application to a song contest. She recalls winning something but gained so much more by realizing songwriting was a way to open up her world. From Staten Island, she initially performed in cafes and busked on the Ferry. Her "indie-folk-pop style" (Leicasterbangs, UK) reflects an infusion of many influences including jazz greats of the 30’s and 40’s to more contemporary singer-songwriters, from the Fast Folk era on. The result-her own voice, mingling wit, a silky sweetness and thoughtful reverie to her songwriting and performance. “Some artists are known for their voice, delivery, their songs or guitar playing. Lynn is not just ‘some artist.’ She delivers ALL of these with depth and clarity, one gorgeous song at a time.” Ruthie Logsdon, Ruthie & the Wranglers. | ||
