What is The Lifted Project?

The Lifted Project, created by John Burton, assembles some of the Hudson Valley’s most talented musicians for an inspiring annual performance. This one-of-a-kind event features:

• A live choir performing a never-before-rehearsed song.
• A children’s choir & guitar symphony.
• A powerful community finale inviting the audience to sing along.

Every performer volunteers their time, filling the space with a unique energy that uplifts both the musicians and the audience.

Proceeds benefit the THANC Foundation, a proud nonprofit partner for The Lifted Project 2025. Funds raised will support their mission to provide research, education, and resources for head and neck cancer patients and survivors. Your participation helps make this work possible!

Cancer has touched the lives of all of us; a relative, a friend, our children, ourselves. For
something so ubiquitous, it is strangely absent from the world of entertainment and the arts.
Veteran writers and performers Verna Gillis and David Gonzalez (both of whom are currently
receiving chemotherapy) have gathered a group of vibrant storytellers with Rebecca Kalin and
Bruce & Gail Whistance and outstanding musicians Joey Eppard, and Jay Collins with Matt Finck
to shed sound and light, and open new conversations, on the “C word”.

Sunday Evening Concert

“Absolutely electrifying... mesmerizing melodies that redefine what’s traditional, with personality and verve.” - Paul MacArthur, CelticRadio.net

House of Hamill’s music is described as “upcycled Celtic folk.” The band line-up includes Rose Baldino on fiddle and vocals; Brian Buchanan on fiddle, vocals, and guitar; and Caroline Browning on bass, mandolin, piano and vocals. The trio tours nationally, performing at festivals and established folk venues.

Whether they’re ripping through a set of original jigs and reels, adding lush three-part harmonies into traditional folk ballads, or cracking up an audience with stories from the road, House of Hamill puts on a show that captivates audiences from the very first note.

On Thursday, April 10 at 7pm, Bees in the Barn will perform a free concert at Nanuet Public Library, 149 Church Street, Nanuet, NY. Join us for an evening of high-energy acoustic music.

Featuring August Eriksmoen on mandolin, Jordan Shapiro on guitar, Nate Allen on bass, and Chelsea Needham on fiddle, the exuberant and inventive compositions of Bees in the Barn surprise and thrill live audiences. A true joy to watch, their genre-defying music is closest to bluegrass, perhaps aptly described as 'beyond grass,' blending many musical colors into a magnetic elixir of heart-thumping delight.

The group’s principal composer, August Eriksmoen, is a Grammy-nominated producer, Tony-nominated orchestrator, and recipient of London's Olivier Award. Notable credits include Only Murders In The Building, Come From Away, and Steve Martin's Bright Star.
