Long, PhD of Art & Music Emporium, Inc. for the lecture “The Bethlehem Steel Company Band: An Industrial Reach into the Community”. Imagine being hired at a steel plant, not because of your iron working skills, rather for your musical needs. Explore an ensemble that was created in 1910 as a gift to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Learn about musicians who practiced in a dedicated full equipped hall with many amenities made for the band members who provided a wealth of music making for the community.
