Sax Life is a saxophone quartet with rhythm section. Saxophonist Bob Shaut created the group and is responsible for the repertoire consisting of music from Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington, through Wayne Shorter and the Beatles, as well as originals by Bob.
A CD, "The Saxophone and the Drum," was released in 2014, and a new CD of originals and another CD of Beatle music will be released in the near future. Besides Bob Shaut, saxists include Dan Shaut, a leading jazz educator, and West Point band retirees Jim Perry and Wayne Tice. Sharing a love for fun, original and most of all groovy music, Sam, Brett and Andrew have been jamming together since high school music theory class. Officially founded in 2016, the boys have always made it a priority to keep things fresh and interesting on stage and in the studio.
