The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project was created in 2012 with the goal of maintaining live jazz culture and community in Poughkeepsie, NY. Since its inception, The PKJP has presented a weekly jazz jam session accessible to all musicians and fans of live music. Over the past nine years, the jam has been honored to host hundreds of musicians from the Tri-state area. This event is free to both participants and listeners. All with a passion for jazz are welcome.

Music performed at this session is a mixture of: jazz standards, jazz repertoire, american songbook, bossa nova, and afro cuban. Sorry, we do not host original material at this session.

Nick’s earlier album “Fountain Pen”, released in September, 2022, (with Grammy-nominated producer, Seth Glier) drew praise from both folk radio and print media as evocative, deeply emotional, with several songs cited as “instant standards” and the title track as “a gem”. “Carved in The Bark” is Nick’s latest, most serious effort yet, again with Seth Glier as producer, to compellingly convey contemporary concerns, with experimentation, lyrics and musicianship to match.
