Evocative Jazz, Exotic Lounge
with Duo Loco; Studio Stu & Brian Melick
Alternative, Comedic, and Jazz. Evocative Jazz, Exotic Lounge
Rhinebeck Farmers Market
61 East Market Street
Rhinebeck, NY   See Map
Duo Loco is the most basic form of jazz interpretation, drum and bass/voice duo, a sort of, ‘Duja Vey’ (the feeling that none of this ever happened before).

This eccentric jazz duo takes the very best in classic jazz and pop, and twists and bends them into what they call ‘evocative jazz, exotic lounge’. In this ‘duo virtuosi’, nothing is sacred.....improv is rampant...lyrics are changed at will...notes and chords are bent and perverted...familiar languages are obliterated....harmonies are sweet and sour perfection, and yet, serious, sophisticated and uncompromising in execution. The is one in-tune, out-of-tune, offbeat outfit.

Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts

Contemporary folk music with a few twists.
Although Sue and Dwight were born too late to be part of the 1960s Folk Revival, their music embodies the spirit of that time. The Canadian songwriting duo’s uplifting and soothing music focuses on themes of peace, courage, and social justice.
With one foot planted solidly in folk music, the duo comfortably step out into pop, gospel, and the blues. Their three CD’s and numerous singles reflect on their prairie roots, their experiences in Canada’s largest city, and their travels to rural areas of East Africa.
Sue and Dwight have performed in clubs and at events across Canada and have been part of the Toronto Subway busking program. Since 2020, they have reached new audiences across North America and around the world with over 200 weekly online shows of original music as well as folk classics from the 1960’s and 1970’s.

with Marty Isenberg's Wes Anderson Playlist
Jazz
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Isenberg's fascination with Wes Anderson’s films dates back to his adolescence. There is a "mixtape" aspect to a Wes Anderson playlist: an intimate collection of one's favorite songs. For his debut album The Way I Feel Inside: Inspired by the Films of Wes Anderson, Isenberg reimagines as jazz compositions the music that helped to shape his musical identity.

Isenberg has been part of the NYC music scene for 20 years, weaving though many styles of music, from jazz to classical music, to theater and contemporary music. He has performed for Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Broadway shows, and has toured internationally with Dave Juarez Trio, and Soul Doctor the musical. He is an endorsing artist for Aguilar Amps, DR Strings, Fender Guitars and Radial Engineering. He is also a member of the Like Minds Trio, the founder/CEO of the Clinton Hill Music School in Brooklyn and a doctoral candidate at Stony Brook U where he is the assistant to legendary jazz trombonist Ray Anderson.
