After a full career as a Chiropractor Tina Ross is on fire writing, recording and performing in double time. She was recently awarded and named Focus Music’s 2023 Rising Artist. Growing up in NY, performing folk music with her mother at the age of 10 and has always kept her guitar and voice close at hand. A voice/biology major in college, and singing in a Jazz trio throughout her professional health career, in 2019 she knew that it was time to honor her creative side and released her debut album of original music in February 2023 to wonderful reviews. A quiet, elegant fierceness runs through Tina’s songs, speaking to wonder, humility, doubt and defiance. [Tina’s] songs warm the soul like a fireplace in the winter & fill the room with a special amber glow." ~ Americana Highways , John Apice. Chamamé – just like tango – has been declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Argentine accordionist, composer, and researcher Alejandro Brittes has been declared one of the foremost contemporary chamamé ambassadors and innovators. Born of the centuries-long interaction between ritual practices of indigenous Guaraní and the Baroque music influences brought by Jesuits in the Mission period (16th to 18th Centuries), chamamé can be conceived of as a ritual that seeks to communicate with the Earth and the Universe and maintain harmony among humans, through music and dance that lead participants to moments of trance.
