“lyrics so poetic you will think about them long after the song ends” NPR
"Indie folk with soul and intellect... Their vocal blend is immaculate." Seven Days "Inspired by literary voices... with complex musical textures involving repeated instrumental themes," Folk Radio UK CRICKET BLUE’s dense, often dark narratives are delivered with musical and lyrical hooks. The duo of Laura Heaberlin and Taylor Smith are "Master Storytellers" according to NPR, as much as musicians. Listeners have lauded their songs as “an astonishing mix of original lyrics and arrangements that rewards the casual listener, as well as those who choose to lean forward and roll them around like great pieces of literature and composition” The weave of their voices and guitar lines are exquisite, and reminiscent of chamber music at its finest.. Within a year Evan entered a record deal and shortly after delivered his debut Album "A Town Called Blue". In 2009, Evan assembled a New York based band and began touring throughout the country including Bonnaroo & 10K Lakes Music festivals. After years on the road opening at large venues for performers like Heart, Def Leppard, Meatloaf, OAR, Spin Doctors, & appearing on The Voice Season 7, Evan decided to pursue his passion in the world of beer. The record was on the Americana and RMR Blues charts in the U.S. and was #11 on the U.K. Blues charts. Rock Doctor Magazine said this about the album: "While those first two acoustic records made it to #11 and #2 on the folk charts and received good reviews, my gut says THIS is the album that can get The Twangtown Paramours noticed by the world at large. The songs are thoughtful, well written and the production is faultless." | ||
