The Big Ska Band has been performing throughout the Caribbean and North America for 25 years. The group is led by Record Producer/bassist Joe Ferry. Big Ska has performed at the Newport Jazz Festival, Steven Talkhouse, The Beanrunner Cafe, the Milford Music Festival, Jive Bar, Bashakill Vineyards, the Brooklyn Bowel, The Knitting Factory and hundreds more venues. Alumni of the Big Ska Band include world renowned jazz vocalist Cyrille-Aimee, singer/songwriter Matt Simons, neo-folk artist Jenny O. powerhouse vocalist Corey Glover of Living Colour, and legendary ska Saxophonist Lester Sterling.  Award winning Detroit based singer-songwriter Mike Ward:Psychosongs is known for his lyrically-centric, vocally-charged folk songs. Influences are the likes of Simon & Garfunkel, Dylan, Springsteen and John Prine. These days, he finds inspiration in the works of Jason Isbell, Sarah Jarosz and John Paul White. His intimate songwriting echoes through empty city streets, back country roads and family portraits.
Mike has released four studio albums, “We Wonder” (2018) ,“The Darkness and The Light” (2021), "Career Advice" a single (2021),“Particles to Pearls” (June 2022) an EP "Troubled Times" (Oct. 2022) and "Love Never Rests" (April 2023). Ward performs regularly at small venues, clubs, house shows and festivals throughout Michigan, the Midwest, and the East Coast.
