Grateful Dead Tribute at Torne Valley Winery!
with Gratefully Yours
Rock (classic)
Torne Valley Vineyards
Torne Valley Road
Hillburn, NY   See Map
Gratefully Yours is a Grateful Dead inspired band, based out of New Paltz, NY. "Cover band” is an extremely misleading term when it comes to the music of Gratefully Yours. Their willingness and ability to improvise, and their openness to spontaneity and the energy of the moment lie at the core of their performances and truly sets them apart. In the very best tradition of The Grateful Dead, it is this openness that allows the crowd to become a part of the creative process and results in a synergy between the band and the crowd that is unique and truly special. It is that magic that Gratefully Yours truly aims to “cover” and pay tribute to.

City Winery Hudson Valley Presents Richard Thompson live in concert on July 28that 8pm

Tony nominee Ann Hampton Callaway, one of the leading pop/jazz singers of our time, has created an exciting night of songs and stories in celebration of her inspiration and one of America’s most beloved artists, Peggy Lee. On the heels of Ann's Streisand Songbook symphonic triumph, this show celebrates the 100th birthday of the trailblazing woman who gave the world “Fever” through six decades of iconic songs from sultry to sizzling. Fall under the spell of love songs from Peggy’s swinging Benny Goodman days through decades of hits from film and recordings that earned this iconic singer songwriter her powerhouse nickname, “The female Frank Sinatra.”

Peekskill, NY   See Map
The Elmo Project is a celebration of the musical legacy of Elmo Hope led by jazz pianist Bertha Hope-Booker and supported by the Jazz Foundation of America, Jazz Forum Arts, and Lady Got Chops Women's Music Festival.

Elmo Sylvester Hope was an American jazz pianist, composer, and arranger, chiefly in the bebop and hard bop genres. He grew up playing and listening to jazz and classical music with Bud Powell, and both were close friends with Thelonious Monk. He recorded with several emerging stars including trumpeter Clifford Brown and saxophonists John Coltrane, Lou Donaldson, Jackie McLean and Sonny Rollins.

Bertha Hope-Booker married Elmo in 1957 and after her husband’s passing in 1967 continued to present his music and remained an active force in improvised music. She is a composer and arranger with several recordings under her name, including In Search of Hope and Elmo's Fire (Steeplechase); Between Two Kings (Minor Records) and her latest Nothin’ But Love (Reservoir).

Yellow Brick Road
with Gerald Brann
Pop/Soft Rock
The Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center
231 Creamery Pond Rd
Chester, NY   See Map
There is no other performer who looks and sounds so much like Elton John, nor any tribute act that provides the experience of being at an Elton John concert the way Gerald Brann and Yellow Brick Road do. Brann not only bears an uncanny resemblance to the international superstar — complete with gap-toothed smile and many of his mannerisms — but recreates Elton John's vocals and playing to a tee. To capture the essence of the piano man, Brann dresses in replica costumes and wears Elton's trademark outrageous glasses. A trained jazz pianist, Brann has been a lifelong Elton John fan, and his admiration for and love of his music comes shining through as he plays one hit after another with remarkable likeness to the pop music icon. Brann and his talented five-piece band evoke audience participation throughout the entire show — whether singing along to "Rocket Man" and "Your Song," swaying to "Candle in the Wind," or hopping and bopping to "Crocodile Rock."

Evocative Jazz, Exotic Lounge
with Duo Loco; Brian Melick & Studio Stu
Jazz, Alternative, and Comedic. Evocative Jazz, Exotic Lounge
Origins Cafe
558 Beaver Meadow Rd
Cooperstown, NY   See Map
Duo Loco is the most basic form of jazz interpretation, drum and bass/voice duo, a sort of, ‘Duja Vey’ (the feeling that none of this ever happened before).

This eccentric jazz duo takes the very best in classic jazz and pop, and twists and bends them into what they call ‘evocative jazz, exotic lounge’. In this ‘duo virtuosi’, nothing is sacred.....improv is rampant...lyrics are changed at will...notes and chords are bent and perverted...familiar languages are obliterated....harmonies are sweet and sour perfection, and yet, serious, sophisticated and uncompromising in execution. The is one in-tune, out-of-tune, offbeat outfit.

The time from her first recording session to the formal release has been a wonderful journey.
