Felix Cabrera
Blues, Jazz
Meadow Blues Coffee
8 Greycourt Avenue
Chester, NY   See Map
Felix Cabrera was born in La Habana, Cuba. He listened to music on the radio since he was 5 -- not only his native music but also Bill Haley and Nat King Cole. His musical activity at that time was beating conga patterns on benches with school friends.

He played with various bands until, in 1974, he and Arthur Neilson formed the "A Train Blues Band", one of the first Chicago styled Blues bands in the New York metropolitan area. The band backed up and recorded with Victoria Spivey and North Carolina bluesman Tarheel Slim besides doing their own gigs. Felix also played duets with Honey Boy Edwards.

Beginning in the Fall of 2008, The Black Italians, who had not performed together in almost 12 years, started playing again and appeared at such venues as the Cutting Room and the Turning Point Café.

Louie Prima Jr. and The Witnesses
Swing/Jump, Big Band
Paramount Hudson Valley Theater
1008 Brown St
Peekskill, NY   See Map
“Like his father, Prima, Jr. is a talented entertainer whose jocular vocals led much of the action… it catapulted the sound into the present and these stunning Witnesses enjoyed numerous featured spots as vocalists and instrumentalists. Tireless doesn’t begin to describe each perspiration-filled moment.”- New York City Jazz Record
Louis Prima Jr. and The Witnesses are a boisterous, horn-driven, 10-piece New Orleans-style band known for their energetic performances that raise the roof and bring audiences to their feet. Their eclectic and rowdy style crosses several genres, from big band and swing to rock and blues, combining original music from their two albums with tail-shakin’ and foot stompin’ favorites from the five-decade career of Louis Prima Sr. With the band’s collective talents and diverse musical tastes, their shows have a sound that is unique while staying true to the vintage Prima style!

Los Lobos
Pop/Soft Rock, Folk/Traditional
Paramount Hudson Valley Theater
1008 Brown St
Peekskill, NY   See Map
The journey of Los Lobos began in 1973, 50 years ago this year, when David Hidalgo (vocals, guitar, and pretty much anything with strings), Louie Perez (drums, vocals, guitar), Cesar Rosas (vocals, guitar), and Conrad Lozano (bass, vocals, guitarrón) earned their stripes playing revved-up versions of Mexican folk music in restaurants and at parties. The band evolved in the 1980s as it tapped into L.A.’s burgeoning punk and college rock scenes. They were soon sharing bills with bands like the Circle Jerks, Public Image Ltd. and the Blasters, whose saxophonist, Steve Berlin, would eventually leave the group to join Los Lobos in 1984.
Early on, Los Lobos enjoyed critical success, winning the Grammy® for Best Mexican-American Performance for “Anselma” from its 1983 EP …And a Time to Dance. A year later, the group released its full-length, major-label debut, How Will the Wolf Survive? Co-produced by Berlin and T Bone Burnett, the album was a college rock sensation.
