It’s truly like painting on air–creating colors and lush soundscapes that take people (and me) away to a safe place with no prejudice and no boundaries. Rarely is an artist capable of touching the hearts and souls of people of all ages, cultures, and diverse musical backgrounds as BENISE. BENISE is an artist that has evolved the magnificent tradition of Nuevo Flamenco/Spanish guitar, while combining the elements of dance, theatre and Cirque, to create a totally unique style of musical & visual entertainment at a concert event.

For over 30 years, The Fabulous Thunderbirds have been the quintessential American band. Co-founder Kim Wilson, still spearheads the group as it evolves into its newest incarnation.
“We started as a straight blues band”, vocalist and harmonica player Wilson says. “We now incorporate a mixture of a lot of different styles. We’re an American music band and we’re much higher energy than we were before.”

"…first class saxophonist that blows the proverbial roof off the place and an accomplished stylist who uses her chords…with agility and sophistication." - ALL ABOUT JAZZ

https://www.camillethurmanmusic.com/

Remember the name Camille Thurman. As a composer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and unique interpreter of the jazz tradition, she is quickly becoming one of the standard bearers for the form, making a considerable and dynamic contribution to the legacy of jazz while paying tribute to its heroes.

Fluid and powerful on the tenor saxophone and highly inventive as a vocalist, she also plays bass clarinet, flute, and piccolo. Her rich sax sound has been compared to Joe Henderson and Dexter Gordon, while her vocal approach—including an impressive scatting ability—has been classified alongside those of Ella Fitzgerald and Betty Carter.

In a few short years, Thurman has shared stages with jazz and R&B luminaries too numerous to list, has amassed several distinctive honors for her musicianship, and has four full-length recordings as a leader to her credit.

Thurman toured internationally two seasons with the world-renowned Jazz At Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis as a saxophonist, becoming the first woman in 30 years to tour and perform full time (2018-2020). When she is not touring with the JALCO, Thurman is on the road leading her band, The Camille Thurman Quartet. She is also a featured artist with the Darrell Green Trio, where she has performed at the Kennedy Center, Alice Tully Hall, and numerous respected international jazz festivals and venues.

As jazz faculty at Manhattan School of Music and the University of Michigan, he taught ensembles, jazz composition, and "Music of the Afro Latin Diaspora".
