Sunday 7:00 pm | Sunday Evening Jazz with Dave Stryker Trio w/ Jared Gold & McClenty Hunter | The FALCON 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
Dave Stryker, Jared Gold & McClenty Hunter are fresh off their opening gig with the Steely Dan Earth After Hours Tour. The Trio will be celebrating 15 years together by playing music from their upcoming release “Prime”. They are fine-tuned with forward-facing momentum. And once again, Stryker was named one of the top Jazz Guitarists in the 2022 Downbeat Critics and Readers Polls...for the 15th time!
“Perhaps the biggest surprise of all was how great the opening act was. The Dave Stryker Trio had the guitarist ably accompanied by organist Jared Gold and drummer McClenty Hunter. Their arrangements of two 1972 soul classics – The Temptations’ “Papa Was A Rolling Stone” and Curtis Mayfield’s “Pusherman – were journeys through funk, fusion, jazz, and rock with chops to spare.” - Mike Greenblatt / The Aquarian http://www.davestryker.com/wp/ Dave's latest album, “As We Are," the jazz gods have alighted on the guitarist and elevated his playing, his composing, his soloing, and his music. A beautiful, bittersweet concept album, As We Are includes pianist/ arranger Julian Shore, bassist John Patitucci, and drummer Brian Blade, who convey new-found depth and empathy to Stryker’s compositions. A shimmering string quartet led by Sara Caswell enhances some of the finest compositions of his 30-year career…." - Jazz Times https://www.posi-tone.com/artist_jared/artist_jared.html Organist Jared Gold's emergence as one of New York's most in-demand musicians comes from years of dedication and respect to his instrument. With such notable influences as Larry Young, Jack McDuff, and Don Patterson to draw upon as a foundation, the emphasis on finding his own voice has now clearly taken precedence and required Gold to construct his own unique philosophy based on extending harmony and solidifying the groove. While at Juilliard, Hunter joined the Eric Reed Trio and recorded The Dancing Monk (2011). Hunter has earned the opportunity to work with Lou Donaldson, Cedar Walton, Buster Williams, Curtis Fuller, Les McCann, Wycliffe Gordon, Peter Bernstein, Eric Alexander, Mike LeDonne, and Paul Bollenback. McClenty’s drumming is represented on Dave Styrker’s Messin With Mr. T (2015) and Javon Jackson’s Live at Smoke: Expression (2013) to name a few.

The album is a great listening experience, and I believe you will love it as much as I do" - Sharon White, The Whites

Wednesday 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm | Hollis Brown, Bruce T. Carroll Rock (classic) | Harbor Island Park Mamaroneck, NY See Map |
Free outdoor concert in Harbor Island Park, Mamaroneck.
Hollis Brown’s latest album, In The Aftermath (Mascot Label Group/Cool Green Recordings), is the deliciously depraved outcome of an all-night rock n’ roll riot. The Queens, New York-based quintet escaped to the Poconos to record with a few handles of whiskey, and, in one 24-hour session, ran down the Stone’s seminal first album of all originals, 1966’s Aftermath. Tracked live in the studio with minimal overdubs, In The Aftermath is potent proof the five-piece group is one of the last great American rock n’ roll bands. Learn More

This record [Emotional Gangster] is indeed made in the spirit of new shoes! A new way of walking. It’s created with the intention of moving forward to an old truth and a new reality that all are appreciated for the unique energetic contribution they bring to our collective life. Love is all there is. I love you all " - Popa Chubby 2022
FEATURING ~ Mike Merritt ~ Bass Mike DiMeo ~ Keys Stefano Giudici ~ Drums And Special Guests! http://popachubby.wix.com/popachubby Twelve new tracks featuring The Chubbfatha on many instruments and doing all the mixing and recording duties. “This record definitely reflects happier times and good solid dose of classic blues!”, says Popa from his studio full of guitars in the Hudson Valley. “I specifically included covers like Hoochie Coochie Man and Dust My Broom to show respect for the Fathers. Willie Dixon has always been my idol, you know.” But the real gems here come in Popa’s original compositions. “Equal Opportunity” is a light hearted sing along that celebrates the feminine at a time when it is seriously needed. And songs like “Fly Away” and both versions French and English of “Why You Wanna Make War?” Are big standouts! There is more than an ample amount of pure guitar bliss on this record and slide guitar on tracks like “Tonight I’m Gonna Be the Man” add flavor to a savory mix! For an added bonus, Harmonica Wizard Jason Ricci joins Popa on the Blues Rock anthem “New Way of Walking” and the swing shuffle “Save the Best for Last”.

Primarily a guitar player and vocalist, Erica is an active member in the band Roach Girl, and her own project CHOO CHOO. This year CHOO CHOO released their debut EP titled Laundry Day, available on all major streaming platforms.. Erica’s songwriting style sonically prioritizes the rhythmic and chordal energies of SALES and Crumb, while sharing the likeness of modern femme rockers Lucy Dacus and Snail Mail. Her vocal melodies are guided by lyrical sarcasm while still holding onto her admittedly sad girl sensibilities, often revealing candid but vulnerable narratives about coming to terms with her identity. Bound together by the energetic pocket of drummer Isaiah Hazzard and bassist Conner Duke, CHOO CHOO invites you aboard but asks that you stand clear of the closing doors.
Friday 7:00 pm | Split Bill... with paris_monster | w/ Josh Dion & Geoff Kraly | The FALCON 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
Video : Paris Monster - The Unclean : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxvTnX0M6o4
Beat-driven. Employing heavy elements of funk and soul, paris_monster closes a gap between synthesized sound & garage; between modern detail and old-school grit. Solid earth. Soaring soundscapes. A mass of noise. Volatility. Vocal singularity. Dirty, glitchy, lyric-centered, groove-based. Funk and soul join with lyrical themes of bygone eras in rural settings. Characters lost, mortality confronted. Love achieved, and denied. Americana. These themes stand in stark contrast to pounding grooves and electronic mayhem, creating depth and dimensions that could have been otherwise achieved only by dropping a modular synth in the corn fields of central NY or the woods of Connecticut. www.parismonster.com www.twitter.com/theparismonster www.facebook.com/theparismonster www.instagram.com/theparismonster www.youtube.com/parismonsterband NY indie experimental duo Paris Monster is hard to classify. With a sound that is beat-driven and groove-based, the band incorporates elements of funk, soul, synth-pop and garage sounds create something unique that has garnered them a growing fan base and critical acclaim. JOSH DION and GEOFF KRALY formed Paris Monster in 2012 and continue to wow audiences with their live show. Although it is just the two of them performing, listeners swear they were hearing a full band! The duo has toured the US and Europe extensively and were invited by Questlove to perform at the 9th Annual Roots Picnic. The band released their first EP It Once Had Been Kind in 2013, followed by several singles and a music video, as well as live-performance videos in partnership with Meinl Cymbals. In 2019, Paris Monster released their debut full length album Lamplight . A prodigious talent, Josh began playing professionally in his single digit years; invited to the UConn Jazz Studies program by the time he was twelve. Immersed in the Jam Band scene with NYC funk band ulu, touring the US, Josh was soon noticed by jazz guitarist Chuck Loeb, who offered Josh an opportunity to be seen and heard by a new audience. Since he has worked with some of the most notable names in music: Spyro Gyra, Will Lee, Pat Martino, Jeff Kashiwa, Jason Miles, Edgar Winter, Randy Brecker, Bob James, and on and on. Dion developed his solo career with the CD releases of the Josh Dion Band - "Give Love" and "Josh Dion Band Live".
