 The lineup is both eclectic and complimentary, a spirit of experimentation running through the whole crew of players. The event will feature locals Dominick & the Family Band’s country-flecked rock, Joseph Allred’s blend of soulful bluegrass and fingerpicked folk, Elkhorn’s deep psychedelic folk, Ashley Paul’s somber mix of free jazz and shoegaze, Jeffrey Alexander and The Heavy Lidders’ wiry, thick-veined psychedelic Americana and experimental blues, and Wet Tuna’s dub-scraped head trips. The show will find Chris Forsyth collaborating in a one-time trio with percussionist and perennial collaborator Ryan Jewell, and experimental luminary Bill Nace. Then the legendary Laraaji will bring the show to a close with a sunset set. I’m beyond thrilled to present this event and hope that you’ll join me for a day of deep jams Upstate NY.

Joanna formed her own band in 1988 with weekly appearances at the Kingston Mines in Chicago. Her formidable guitar playing, and distinctive soul-churning vocal ability caught the attention of Blind Pig Records, who released her debut album “Believe It” in 1990.
National and International accolades in the press and radio media resulted into a decade of world tours, a dozen recordings on Ruf Records, MC Records and others, a documentary on Germany’s WDR Television, and a multitude of TV appearances and radio features.
Joanna and band shared stages with Blues, Rock and Jazz greats, including Luther Allison, BB King, Screaming Jay Hawkins, Robben Ford, Danny Gatton, Robert Cray, Jimmy Page, ZZ Top, Joe Cocker, Etta James, and others.
In 2005, she took a hiatus from touring to raise her young daughter, but yet two 15+ year residencies at Chicago's House of Blues and The Kingston Mines, honed Joanna’s considerable guitar and vocal chops even further.
A handful of videos of her incendiary slide guitar solos went viral creating a sensation and garnering attention from media and established musicians alike. Joe Bonamassa sought her out and offered to produce the kind of record he felt Joanna had always had in her and should deliver to the world. 4801 South Indiana is this record, a blues record that delivers all the raw emotion, passion, and fire that made the Blues so compelling from its inception. Bonamassa did not merely produce, arrange, and play on the record, he enabled and inspired Joanna to pull from deep within her all of what her life in music had given her. While steeped in tradition, the recording is no museum piece, it is alive and it is kicking, once-in-a-lifetime Blues. |

Palladium is a Wayne Shorter repertory group founded by producer, and Shorter family friend Jesse Markowitz, who has overseen Shorter’s social media since 2015. Palladium began as a live act in 2018 with the intent to share Wayne’s massive audience with the emerging musicians on the NYC scene by exploring the vast terrain of Wayne’s compositions. The title track on Freund's forthcoming album – “The Year I Spent In Space” is out, came to Tom in the thick of Pandemania.
Tom's songs have been featured on television series such as Better Things, Parenthood and One Tree Hill. For his latest - Amazon Prime Studio's animated series Pete The Cat - Freund co-wrote, sang and played songs with Elvis Costello, KT Tunstall, Dave Matthews and Diana Krall, and co-wrote the show’s theme song with creator Swampy Marsh (Phineas and Ferb). Costello takes lead vocals on each episode’s opening theme with Freund handling backing vocals and most instruments.
The Restless Age is a collaboration - a harmony of Will Bryant, Lee Falco and Brandon Morrison. Each player brings a unique song and voice to the bandstand, as the trio spans generations and genres.
The members of The Restless Age have been a premier rhythm section throughout New York’s Hudson Valley for the past half-decade. As the house band for Amy Helm's 'Oh to be Home Again' at Levon Helm Studios, they performed behind Donald Fagen, John Sebastian and Graham Nash, as well as being Kate Pierson's (The B-52's) touring band in support of her 2015 debut album 'Guitars & Microphones’. During that same year they toured the U.S. & Canada supporting the The Waterboys and The Gipsy Kings along with fellow Hudson Valley singer-songwriter Connor Kennedy. |
