With rhythm and percussion driving their original compositions (sung in Spanish, Portuguese, and English) LADAMA combines disparate, traditional roots music with pop. The result is a sonic experience through which we can view our future as a world that communicates across continents and cultures, with sound and story.

Guitar star Dylan Doyle delights audiences, but frustrates anyone trying to define his sound....It isn’t the 19-year-old’s job to define it. It’s his job to play it. And that’s what the Dylan Doyle Band will do..." - Wisconsin News

http://www.dylandoyleband.com/

Based in the Hudson Valley, rising star Dylan Doyle has been performing nationally, as well as internationally. Southern bred, northern raised, his trio’s style of music lies somewhere between roots rock and jam funk. It evokes Woodstock and dips into southern soul; a uniquely American sound.

Touring nationally since age 15, Dylan became a seasoned professional while relatively young. He has played with notable musicians such as, Rob Stoner (Bob Dylan, Don Mclean), John Platania (Van Morrison, Natalie Merchant), Ben Cauley (Otis Redding) and Bill Payne (Little Feat).

Stoner called Dylan one of the most prodigious players he has known, with abundant natural talent. John Platania has referred to Dylan as “The Future.” Ben Cauley, after playing with Dylan in Memphis said, “Dylan Doyle sounds like a young Jimi Hendrix.” In the words of Bill Payne upon sharing the stage, “Music is a conversation. Dylan spoke beautifully and was listening to the musicians around him. His play was imaginative and original.”

Attesting to Dylan’s versatility, Dylan has played the King Biscuit Blues Festival three consecutive years as well headlining the Grateful Garcia Gathering, the largest Grateful Dead festival in the Midwest. He consistently packs houses across Europe and the US.

The full Bard Music Festival program will be announced in late April, complete with details of all health and safety protocols. Please note, this year, the Bard Music Festival semi-staged opera will be a part of the Weekend One program.

The name Cuboricua was inspired by the music of Cuba and Puerto Rico. Cuboricua identifies with the rhythms and melodies of the Caribbean; Salsa, Son, Rumba, Bomba, Plena, as well as Merengue.

The veteran musicians of this conjunto, to their credit, have performed and recorded with world renowned artists such as Celia Cruz, Pete "El Conde" Rodriquez, Eddie Palmieri, Monguito "el unico", los Kimbos, and the New Swing Sextet, to name a few.

This conjunto creates a traditional/modern energetic sound by placing the interlocking rhythmic figures of percussion and Cuban Tres under a smoothly swinging melody to create a new sound!

Dave Stryker, Jared Gold & McClenty Hunter are fresh off their opening gig with the Steely Dan Earth After Hours Tour. The Trio will be celebrating 15 years together by playing music from their upcoming release “Prime”. They are fine-tuned with forward-facing momentum. And once again, Stryker was named one of the top Jazz Guitarists in the 2022 Downbeat Critics and Readers Polls...for the 15th time!

“Perhaps the biggest surprise of all was how great the opening act was. The Dave Stryker Trio had the guitarist ably accompanied by organist Jared Gold and drummer McClenty Hunter. Their arrangements of two 1972 soul classics – The Temptations’ “Papa Was A Rolling Stone” and Curtis Mayfield’s “Pusherman – were journeys through funk, fusion, jazz, and rock with chops to spare.” - Mike Greenblatt / The Aquarian

http://www.davestryker.com/wp/

Dave's latest album, “As We Are," the jazz gods have alighted on the guitarist and elevated his playing, his composing, his soloing, and his music. A beautiful, bittersweet concept album, As We Are includes pianist/ arranger Julian Shore, bassist John Patitucci, and drummer Brian Blade, who convey new-found depth and empathy to Stryker’s compositions. A shimmering string quartet led by Sara Caswell enhances some of the finest compositions of his 30-year career…." - Jazz Times

https://www.posi-tone.com/artist_jared/artist_jared.html

Organist Jared Gold's emergence as one of New York's most in-demand musicians comes from years of dedication and respect to his instrument. With such notable influences as Larry Young, Jack McDuff, and Don Patterson to draw upon as a foundation, the emphasis on finding his own voice has now clearly taken precedence and required Gold to construct his own unique philosophy based on extending harmony and solidifying the groove.

While at Juilliard, Hunter joined the Eric Reed Trio and recorded The Dancing Monk (2011). Hunter has earned the opportunity to work with Lou Donaldson, Cedar Walton, Buster Williams, Curtis Fuller, Les McCann, Wycliffe Gordon, Peter Bernstein, Eric Alexander, Mike LeDonne, and Paul Bollenback. McClenty’s drumming is represented on Dave Styrker’s Messin With Mr. T (2015) and Javon Jackson’s Live at Smoke: Expression (2013) to name a few.

Music at a farmers market!! What fun! Buy some fresh, local produce; hear some music, maybe pick up a CD! Not bad for a Wednesday afternoon in the late summertime!

The truth is that this event is happening every Wednesday afternoon during the growing season, and there are other very fine musicians scheduled at each one of these. Visit their website for more information.

Hollis Brown’s latest album, In The Aftermath (Mascot Label Group/Cool Green Recordings), is the deliciously depraved outcome of an all-night rock n’ roll riot. The Queens, New York-based quintet escaped to the Poconos to record with a few handles of whiskey, and, in one 24-hour session, ran down the Stone’s seminal first album of all originals, 1966’s Aftermath. Tracked live in the studio with minimal overdubs, In The Aftermath is potent proof the five-piece group is one of the last great American rock n’ roll bands.

Concert on the Lawn

Following a rousing performance at our 2021 American Roots Music Festival, Upstate returns to take you on a textured musical journey as they weave traces of Americana, jazz, gospel, and R&B with their eyes towards music that tells the truth above all. With a clear ambition to write honest songs, play rich music, and “leave it all” on the stage, they’ve earned their reputation for eclectic instrumentation, musicianship, and powerfully dense harmony.

Please bring your own seating for this concert, as it takes place on our grassy Friends Field. You can even bring or purchase a picnic dinner!

This record [Emotional Gangster] is indeed made in the spirit of new shoes! A new way of walking. Twelve new tracks featuring The Chubbfatha on many instruments and doing all the mixing and recording duties. “This record definitely reflects happier times and good solid dose of classic blues!”, says Popa from his studio full of guitars in the Hudson Valley.

“I specifically included covers like Hoochie Coochie Man and Dust My Broom to show respect for the Fathers. Willie Dixon has always been my idol, you know.”

But the real gems here come in Popa’s original compositions. “Equal Opportunity” is a light hearted sing along that celebrates the feminine at a time when it is seriously needed. And songs like “Fly Away” and both versions French and English of “Why You Wanna Make War?” Are big standouts! There is more than an ample amount of pure guitar bliss on this record and slide guitar on tracks like “Tonight I’m Gonna Be the Man” add flavor to a savory mix!

For an added bonus, Harmonica Wizard Jason Ricci joins Popa on the Blues Rock anthem “New Way of Walking” and the swing shuffle “Save the Best for Last”.
