CHOO CHOO is a Brooklyn-based indie rock band led by singer and guitarist Erica Enriquez. Primarily a guitar player and vocalist, Erica is an active member in the band Roach Girl, and her own project CHOO CHOO. This year CHOO CHOO released their debut EP titled Laundry Day, available on all major streaming platforms..

Erica’s songwriting style sonically prioritizes the rhythmic and chordal energies of SALES and Crumb, while sharing the likeness of modern femme rockers Lucy Dacus and Snail Mail.

Her vocal melodies are guided by lyrical sarcasm while still holding onto her admittedly sad girl sensibilities, often revealing candid but vulnerable narratives about coming to terms with her identity.

Bound together by the energetic pocket of drummer Isaiah Hazzard and bassist Conner Duke, CHOO CHOO invites you aboard but asks that you stand clear of the closing doors.

Video : Paris Monster - The Unclean : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxvTnX0M6o4

Beat-driven. Employing heavy elements of funk and soul, paris_monster closes a gap between synthesized sound & garage; between modern detail and old-school grit. Solid earth. Soaring soundscapes. A mass of noise. Volatility. Vocal singularity.

Dirty, glitchy, lyric-centered, groove-based. Funk and soul join with lyrical themes of bygone eras in rural settings.

Characters lost, mortality confronted. Love achieved, and denied. Americana. These themes stand in stark contrast to pounding grooves and electronic mayhem, creating depth and dimensions that could have been otherwise achieved only by dropping a modular synth in the corn fields of central NY or the woods of Connecticut.

NY indie experimental duo Paris Monster is hard to classify. With a sound that is beat-driven and groove-based, the band incorporates elements of funk, soul, synth-pop and garage sounds create something unique that has garnered them a growing fan base and critical acclaim.

JOSH DION and GEOFF KRALY formed Paris Monster in 2012 and continue to wow audiences with their live show. Although it is just the two of them performing, listeners swear they were hearing a full band! The duo has toured the US and Europe extensively and were invited by Questlove to perform at the 9th Annual Roots Picnic.

The band released their first EP It Once Had Been Kind in 2013, followed by several singles and a music video, as well as live-performance videos in partnership with Meinl Cymbals. In 2019, Paris Monster released their debut full length album Lamplight .

A prodigious talent, Josh began playing professionally in his single digit years; invited to the UConn Jazz Studies program by the time he was twelve. Immersed in the Jam Band scene with NYC funk band ulu, touring the US, Josh was soon noticed by jazz guitarist Chuck Loeb, who offered Josh an opportunity to be seen and heard by a new audience. Since he has worked with some of the most notable names in music: Spyro Gyra, Will Lee, Pat Martino, Jeff Kashiwa, Jason Miles, Edgar Winter, Randy Brecker, Bob James, and on and on.

Dion developed his solo career with the CD releases of the Josh Dion Band - "Give Love" and "Josh Dion Band Live".

World-renowned guitarist Stanley Jordan has developed a new live show called “Stanley Jordan Plays Jimi.” This is a tribute show, but it’s not pure imitation. Jonny Meyers is a guitar slinging singer-songwriter and prodigal son of Queens, NY - born and raised. His latest release, "The Moment You Arrive," recorded with his quintet, The JMQ, is a new take on classic American genres, like comfort food in your local diner. In the songs, you hear traces of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Van Morrison Moondance era and Doug Sahm's Texas Soul.
This summer, Jonny is traveling solo, doing acoustic versions of the songs you hear on the record and more.

"Everything about this music is timeless - Jonny Meyers's smoke-and-whiskey voice, the singalong harmonies ... and the bittersweet, ever-hopeful songs that reach out and grab you like an old friend found at the end of a long journey." - David French, author of the biography Heart Full of Soul - Keith Relf of the Yardbirds

MARTIN PIZZARELLI
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Pizzarelli

A member of NJ’s first jazz family, Martin’s own impressive career as a bass player spans several decades and includes dozens of record dates and hundreds of concerts around the globe in various formations, often accompanying his father. Among his peers, he is considered one of the most swinging bassists on the scene and a “keeper of the flame” who masters the style like no one else today.

His core collaborators are two young and energetic forces of the New York jazz scene, pianist Hyuna Park and clarinetist/tenor saxophonist Linus Wyrsch.

HYUNA PARK

"Hyuna Park is a beautiful new voice on the piano. She plays with a feeling and maturity that is rare."
— Vincent Herring
An award-winning jazz pianist, Hyuna Park’s musical universe is both deeply connected to NY and its vibrant jazz tradition while at the same time embracing her Korean and classical roots. She was the 2018 winner of the International Women in Jazz (IWJ) festival as well as the Jimmy Heath Award. She has graced the stage with Grammy award-winners such as Linda Oh, Luis Bonilla, Michael Mossman and Vincent Herring.

Ever More Nest
Singer-Songwriter, Americana
Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online and on the radio, NY   See Map

Like the farming homesteaders of her native Mississippi River Delta, Ever More Nest builds houses of emotion among fields of mercy, forests of fears, and streams of consciousness. These are houses that are lived in, that draw in visitors to comfortable confines with the promise of warmth despite the dust, grit, and dangers of the day. Rooted in Southern musical traditions and infused with confessional 90s angst, the music of Ever More Nest can lull and rock you right off a front porch. Ever More Nest’s dynamic, homegrown voice-hugged by lush, church-pew harmonies-is complemented by ghostly, effusive guitars, spirited mandolin and banjo, mournful fiddle, and a rhythm section steady as a country train. Whether in a cinematic crescendo of all-consuming sound or in a quiet soliloquy of only voice and guitar, Ever More Nest allows audiences to wade into the waters of their humanness or stay safely ashore, where the rhythm of waves-the steady rock and roll-bring contentedness and joy.

"...if you’re seeking an incendiary guitar talent, you need to check out the string-bending, mind-blowing Joanna Connor." - Elmore

Official Music Video: Joanna Connor "I Feel So Good" : https://youtu.be/JUj5-MAcoiY

https://joannaconnor.com/

Joanna formed her own band in 1988 with weekly appearances at the Kingston Mines in Chicago. Her formidable guitar playing, and distinctive soul-churning vocal ability caught the attention of Blind Pig Records, who released her debut album “Believe It” in 1990.

National and International accolades in the press and radio media resulted into a decade of world tours, a dozen recordings on Ruf Records, MC Records and others, a documentary on Germany’s WDR Television, and a multitude of TV appearances and radio features.

Joanna and band shared stages with Blues, Rock and Jazz greats, including Luther Allison, BB King, Screaming Jay Hawkins, Robben Ford, Danny Gatton, Robert Cray, Jimmy Page, ZZ Top, Joe Cocker, Etta James, and others.

In 2005, she took a hiatus from touring to raise her young daughter, but yet two 15+ year residencies at Chicago's House of Blues and The Kingston Mines, honed Joanna’s considerable guitar and vocal chops even further.

A handful of videos of her incendiary slide guitar solos went viral creating a sensation and garnering attention from media and established musicians alike. Joe Bonamassa sought her out and offered to produce the kind of record he felt Joanna had always had in her and should deliver to the world. 4801 South Indiana is this record, a blues record that delivers all the raw emotion, passion, and fire that made the Blues so compelling from its inception. Bonamassa did not merely produce, arrange, and play on the record, he enabled and inspired Joanna to pull from deep within her all of what her life in music had given her. While steeped in tradition, the recording is no museum piece, it is alive and it is kicking, once-in-a-lifetime Blues.

Live At Bearsville Theater

Folk/Traditional
Bearsville Theater

Brett Dennen is telling us to get out and see the world at a time when we need it more than ever. Flame-haired, six-foot-five, and with a singular gift for meditating on life’s most meaningful subjects with equal parts innocence and razor sharp wit, you know Dennen from his decade-plus career as a singer/songwriter. With a successful string of albums and four Top Ten AAA singles like “Make You Crazy,” “Wild Child,” and 2018’s“Already Gone,” which achieved his highest chart position yet, Dennen has cemented himself as a fixture in American folk music. What you may not know about Brett is that he did not set out to be a professional musician. It is a surprising revelation for someone who embodies the best of songwriting: singular storytelling, singability and the unique capacity to hold up a mirror to our lives, our society, and the greater world.

Palladium is a Wayne Shorter repertory group founded by producer, and Shorter family friend Jesse Markowitz, who has overseen Shorter’s social media since 2015. Palladium began as a live act in 2018 with the intent to share Wayne’s massive audience with the emerging musicians on the NYC scene by exploring the vast terrain of Wayne’s compositions. Numerous shows to hone a group sound took place at Smalls Jazz Club NYC.

Palladium is Markowitz's curation, whose long-term goal is for Shorter to be known as this generation's Mozart!

Palladium expanded to a recording project, releasing two albums which include spoken word cameos from Wayne himself; “2020” features over 30 musicians in a variety of settings, and “Don’t Look Back” focuses on a single quintet pairing the legendary Victor Lewis with young all-stars Nicole Glover, Sasha Berliner, Sean Mason & Russell Hall. The freewheeling, New York bred comic storyteller – who made the list of Comedy Central’s “100 Greatest Standups of All Time” – is hotter than ever, a global touring sensation and regular presence on radio and television whose rabid audience, he’s thrilled to note, is filled with “lifetimers.” Once folks see him live, they’re hooked. Breuer estimates that 78% of his fans have seen him “five, six, seven” times. It’s becoming a family thing, with parents even bringing young teens to see the family man and father of three daughters, all providing genius “dad” material for his sets. Having evolved both personally and professionally since the beginning, Breuer’s pleased to say he’s been F-word free for ten years and counting.
