Joan Osborne
Rock (classic), Blues, and Soul. Singer-songwriter
Emelin Theatre
Mamaroneck, NY   See Map
Multi-platinum selling recording artist and seven-time GRAMMY nominee, Joan Osborne has rightfully earned a reputation as one of the great voices of her generation.

Short Summary:
“Like Bonnie Raitt, a musician to whom she has often been compared, Ms. Osborne is a fiercely intelligent, no-nonsense singer-songwriter who is allergic to traditional pop sentimentality, though hardly devoid of feeling.” – The New York Times

Since she broke through 25 years ago with the multi-platinum Relish and its touchstone mega-smash “One of Us,” the seven-time GRAMMY nominee has never played it safe. Osborne has followed her restless musical heart, exploring a diverse range of genres: pop, rock, soul, R&B, blues, roots rock, gospel, funk, and country – all of which can be heard on her tenth studio album, the masterful Trouble and Strife, along with the Western side of C&W and a touch of glam and disco.

To many Hudson Valley residents, Betty and the Baby Boomers (Betty Boomer, Jean Valla McAvoy, Paul Rubeo, Robert Bard, and Steve Stanne) are the voice of the Hudson River, having taught and sung about the river for more than 30 years. They have been recognized regionally – they “sing and play old-school folk like it was brand spanking new” (Kingston’s Daily Freeman); nationally – “a refreshing reminder of the halcyon days of American folk music” (Sing Out!); and internationally, with many bookings over the years for Clifden Arts Week, a well-known festival in Ireland. In October, 2016, the Hudson River Environmental Society recognized the group’s commitment to the Hudson, honoring them with its Outstanding Environmental Communicator award. The group wraps distinctive four-part harmonies and sparkling guitar and Dobro licks around songs from Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs, and others who inspired their generation, plus contemporary and original material in that tradition.

Best of the Eagles is the most exact interpretation of the music of the Eagles in America, bar none! Each member mirrors his counterpart in the Eagles instrumentally and vocally. However, this is no simple copy band or impersonator act but rather a group of excellent musicians who expertly and authentically re-create the songs, the music, the vocals and the magical aura of one of America’s greatest rock bands. After selling out many venues in the region including the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ, Best of the Eagles looks forward to sharing a great night of Eagles hits at the Paramount Hudson Valley!

Few musical artists resumés list membership in a band inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; fewer still can lay claim to being a founding member of the seminal band credited with creating Country Rock; and only one artist can include all the above in addition to being one half of the most successful duos of the 1970s.

Playing bass, touring and recording with the legendary band Buffalo Springfield (BF), the supremely talented guitarist went on to form Poco with fellow BF member Richie Furay. The band’s aptly titled 1969 Pickin’ Up The Pieces is the only debut album ever to receive a perfect rating from Rolling Stone magazine; the landmark album laid the blueprint for the then new musical genre uniting country with rock music. On the band's self-titled second album, Poco (1969), Messina both produced and penned the band’s first hit single "You Better Think Twice” which has endured as one of the group’s signature songs.

Wearing multiple hats (and wearing them well), she is a singer, songwriter, producer, painter, sketch artist and poet. On August 13th, 2021, she delivered a buzz-worthy Bri-dimensional experience through her self-produced, self-written, self-recorded album, Jaded.

Like her first album, Moon Swings (2019), Bria uses vocal layering and carefully curated musical influences which puts a stamp on her signature soulful sound. When writing and producing Jaded, Bria was inspired by artists like Missy Elliott, Beyonce, D'Angelo, Brent Faiyaz, Roy Ayers and Solange (just to name a few).

Big Lazy, w/Opening Act Mamie MinchThe FALCON

Big Lazy’s Guitar Noir sound can be heard in numerous films/TV series.

"Big Lazy, the elegantly gritty instrumental trio led by the extraordinary guitarist Stephen Ulrich, plays stunningly beautiful music that evokes everything from truckers' romps to the haunting film scores of Bernard Herrmann." The New Yorker

“Avant twang, Americana noir, garage chamber music,...one thing is undeniable — the vibe is unforgettable.” Dusty Wright, Culture Catch

“This band has sonic gravitas… just the real sound of a band with chops, intelligence and a sense of humor.” Sara Willis, Maine Public Broadcasting Network (MPBN)

"The Big Apple Crème de la Crème." -Robert Christgau

http://www.biglazymusic.com/

Big Lazy has flourished for over two decades in New York’s downtown music scene, playing their singular brand of noir and twang from dive bars to the The Whitney Museum of American Art. Big Lazy founder Stephen Ulrich is the composer for the HBO series Bored to Death and the art forgery documentary Art and Craft.

Simultaneously noir and pastoral, gothic and modern, Big Lazy’s music conjures images from big sky country to seedy back rooms with deftness and a cinematic clarity. With sparse instrumentation - electric guitar, acoustic bass and drums - the trio forges American music from archetypes in Blues, Jazz, Surf, and Rockabilly.

Their new album Dear Trouble features NYC luminaries Marc Ribot, Steven Bernstein, Peter Hess (Philip Glass ensemble) and Marlysse Rose Simmons (Miramar). With a nod toward classic guitar instrumentals, the new album captures the essence of the trio’s legendary live shows.

Cheryl’s family roots run deep in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky though she grew up in Covington, Kentucky near the banks of the Ohio River.
Up until now her life has been anything but typical. She’s lived a musician's lifestyle since 25 yrs old while balancing a job and family. How did that work out? Well, to date she has survived several divorces and love relationships. I guess she could blame it on a strained relationship with her mother? Who knows? Then along comes the National Disaster known as The Opioid Epidemic which wreaked total havok! The turn of the century pretty much sucked the life blood out of any semblance of normalcy for Cheryl and her family. It was time for more soul searching! Not much beats a good ole session of songwriting for therapy. Cheryl is certainly no stranger to turning to music when life gets mean and knocks the dominoes down. “When the heart aches… pour it out into the universe via your very own vehicle. Write a song dammit!”
