SPECIAL GUESTS ~ Cindy Cashdollar / Lap Steel Bill Harris / Sax ALSO FEATURING ~ Bette Sussman / Keys (Whitney Houston; Bette Midler; Aretha Franklin) Tony Pulizzi / Guitar (Natalie Cole; George Benson) Rick Chudacoff / Bass (Pointer Sisters, Johnny Mathis, Michael Bolton) Manuel Quintana / Percussion (Rachel Yamagata, Duke McVinnie) Peter Bunetta / Drums (Smokey Robinson, the Temptations, New Edition, Ringo Starr, John Prine) http://www.robbiedupree.com/ Robbie Dupree began his music career singing on the street corners of Brooklyn. His passion for music flourished in the rich, creative atmosphere of the late 1960s. Moving to New York City during these exciting days, Robbie dedicated himself to songwriting and the pursuit of a solo career. He studied the work of R&B legends such as Marvin Gaye and Sam Cooke. Their powerful rhythms and sensual melodies became the foundation of Robbie’s emerging style, which would take him through several ensembles in the city and eventually to Woodstock, where he garnered national acclaim with his songs "Steal Away", "Hot Rod Hearts", "Brooklyn Girls", and "When You're Down." Robbie released his debut album in 1978, earning two Top Ten singles and a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, and has continued to record and perform through his new single Ordinary Day (2018). In the ensuing years, Robbie has recorded and released ten studio recordings. His songs have been featured in TV and film, notably Donnie Brasco and most recently on the TV shows Better Call Saul and Orange is the New Black. Robbie appeared as the musical guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, where he was backed up by The Roots. Jimmy is a long-time fan and, in fact, showed up at one of Robbie’s concerts and sang with him on Steal Away. Blue Monday: https://youtu.be/hOovrLmZM_o
Sunday 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm | Arthur Davenport Singer-Songwriter, Americana | Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts Online and on the radio, NY See Map |
Arthur Davenport's style is diverse Americana, from folk to alt-county and rock. Arthur was featured on National Public Radio performing his song, "Lonesome Cowboy," written for a NPR cowboy music compilation album entitled "'Round-em Up!" This review for his 2002 "Reality Bends" album provides a fitting description of his style: "Using only an acoustic guitar as backup, Arthur Davenport crafts sparse, haunting folk songs with a wry sense of the absurd. Deftly hopping from one vocal personality to another, sometimes within a line, this far-out mountain man keeps the listener guessing." Mike McGuire, Listen.com Arthur released "Whispering to the Wind" in 2010, a collection of 10 original ballads. His “La Rosa Dulce” song was a winner in the “A Still Small Voice 4U's” songwriting contest award in 2020 on the subject of “Monuments”. The “Jonathan Leviathan” album came out in 2020 to present something old, new borrowed and blue, with solo songs, instrumentals and band-backed ballads.

FEATURING ~ Peter Cole / Guitar/Vocals Byron Isaacs Bass/Vocals Will Bryant / Keys/Vocals Lee Falco / Drums www.LostLeaders.net Gienevieve: https://youtu.be/gLOlweoDdm0 Promises Promises, Lost Leaders' 2019 recording, has been described as... a bit on the oblique side, somewhat contemplative and wholly catchy. Isaacs and Cole, supported by keyboardist/mandolinist Will Bryant and drummer Lee Falco, are proudly pop but their jazz backgrounds poke through when they break away and just have a little fun with it." - Relix "...when an album [Heavy Lifting] like this comes along, I want to shout it to the world ... I want to get stuck in traffic, roll down the windows and crank it up. I want to throw listening parties and pay taverns I frequent to play it....because when the music overwhelms, that is always what I want to do and this is overwhelming. I love this album. I love it." – No Depression Lost Leaders' partnership grew from a collaboration that has lasted through years of weirdness and magic - through Byron’s time with the Levon Helm Band, with Helm’s daughter, Amy, in the bands Ollabelle and Amy Helm & the Handsome Strangers and their time on Columbia Records touring with Ryan Adams, Diana Krall and others. It lasted through Peter Cole's time in Lava Baby and a strange NYC power-pop journey. Isaacs has strong ties to the Hudson Valley as a member of the Woodstock-based Levon Helm Band and now performs with The Lumineers.
