ONA: https://youtu.be/VWeQDSUIMd8

“Alexa's album [GRAMMY® nominated ONA] brings a new lens to the female experience: from prophesies disbelieved, to resistance, to sexuality, to awareness of mother earth herself.” - Forbes

"...a jazz singer with a global perspective..." - The New York Times

"...Thana Alexa stood out, turning a style of scatting that’s become cliché into something entirely new, evocative, and exhilarating!" - Billboard

Surprising is the word that perhaps best describes Grammy® nominated and Downbeat cover artist Thana Alexa, an extraordinarily creative force in music. Her latest album, ONA (self-release, March 2020), which earned her two Grammy® nominations including Best Jazz Vocal Album, was inspired by the cross generational and cross-cultural stories of the immigrant women in her family and evolved into an exploration of the experiences of contemporary women everywhere.

ONA has spawned more female-focused projects: Alexa, together with Grammy® nominated artist, Nicole Zuraitis and bassist, Julia Adamy formed SONICA, a trio that fuses electronics, vocal harmonies, electric bass, keyboards and percussion into their unique original music and arrangements.

Alexa also created the project Founding Mothers of Jazz in conjunction with Music Talks Concerts to honor the history of women in jazz, many who are not historically recognized for their contributions because of their gender.

One of Alexa’s most important and ongoing collaborations has been with her husband, five-time Grammy® winner Antonio Sanchez. Together with his band Migration they have recorded three critically acclaimed albums and toured throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

During the 2020 Coronavirus lockdown, Alexa made headlines as a co-founder of what Rolling Stone called the first “virtual jazz festival” and fundraising initiative, Live From Our Living Rooms. Together with co-founders Owen Broder and Sirintip, the team contracted over 120 artists, raised over $140,000, and helped facilitate grants to over100 US-based musicians in need.

Joy Zimmerman

Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online and on the radio, NY   See Map
Joy Zimmerman’s soulful vocals and lyrical songwriting light up her new acoustic roots album, “The Canvas Before Us”, which reached #8 on Folk Alliance International’s Top Albums of August 2021. Listeners will hear echoes of their own journeys in Joy’s songs of hope, challenge and resilience. Joy’s reinvention as a dynamic singer/songwriter might seem surprising. She didn’t pick up a guitar, sing a solo or write her first song until her sons were in elementary school. But the elements were all waiting…a voice of honey, insights for days, and a deep love of music beginning with kindergarten violin lessons. A touring musician based in Kansas City, Joy has recorded eight albums of original music and received an American Songwriter Lyric Contest Honorable Mention and ten Walnut Valley Festival NewSong Showcase wins.

"Quinn Sullivan may also be the most gifted guitar prodigy on the planet, a blues player of jaw dropping virtuosity and depth who could turn out to be the Clapton of his generation" - The Washington Post

"In A World Without You" (LIVE): https://youtu.be/q8Ifw04PyKU

http://quinnsullivanmusic.com/

Quinn Sullivan's fourth album, Wide Awake, offers a veritable tasting menu of electric guitar tone but that's not what he wants you to notice. At least not at first. Songwriting is a little like being a chef. You want people to enjoy the meal. They can ask about the ingredients afterwards.

“You pick up a ’59 Les Paul and it just speaks differently to any other guitar you have ever played before – it is a beast of its own.“

A rare artist who has always sounded older than his years, Sullivan has been touring the world since he was an 11-year-old, playing storied venues such as Madison Square Garden, the Hollywood Bowl and RFK Stadium in Washington D.C., as well as India’s Mahindra Blues Festival, Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival, and three Montreux Jazz Festivals. Quinn has shared the stage with his hero and mentor Buddy Guy, as well as Carlos Santana on several occasions.

Quinn’s performance experience includes appearances on national broadcast television programs such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Conan, and The Oprah Winfrey Show, to name a few.

Sullivan is fully aware of what it takes to pursue his passion...
“I love everything from the songwriting process to recording and especially touring around the world with my incredible bandmates. I’m fortunate to be able to see the world and meet new people everyday. This what I was born to do.”

Celebrating the 50th year of Harrison's album, "All Things Must Pass", and his life and work.

www.darkhorsesband.com

The Dark Horses feature ~

Glenn John Arnowitz / Keyboards, Harmonica, Vocals
Paul Binotto / Bass, Vocals
Michael Robert Hickey / Drums, Vocals
Gerard "Gee" Mancini / Slide & all things stringed, Vocals
Michael O’Brien / Guitar, Vocals
Pattie Gordon / Vocals
Melissa Mahony / Vocals
Mike Pacer / Alto sax and Bari Saxes
Barton Schindler / Tenor Sax

The Dark Horses, a powerhouse line-up of nine Orange County NY musicians, bring to life Harrison’s musical legacy from his Cavern Club days with the Beatles through his solo career, including collaborations with Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynne, and The Traveling Wilburys.

The stories behind the music form a narrative connecting the music to a generation for which Harrison’s music was a soundtrack, while creating context for a newer musical generation. Less a nostalgic road trip than a musical timeline that we somehow continue to discover.

Saugerties, NY   See Map
The Warp/the Weft perform at this wonderful venue in Saugerties with great food and drinks.

The Warp/The Weft, active since 2012 in and beyond New York's Hudson River Valley, has earned praise for its uniqueness and song-crafting from casual and devoted listeners alike. Blending traditional and avant-garde styles, the warmth of a good wool sweater and the sometimes-bleak cold of an upstate winter, the progressive folk and psychedelia that the band brings to bear is propelled by poetic lyrics and a "spirit-conjuring" lilting tenor.

THE NEW YORK TIMES
"Through the lean ropy sound of his Fender Telecaster, Mr. Campilongo connects American styles (Blues, Rock, Country, Jazz, R&B) in a sly knowing way."

JAZZTIMES
"You've got the makings of a very twisted guitar hero who deserves worshipping. Clever, crafty, quirky and cool."

FEATURING:

Jim Campilongo / Guitar - https://www.jimcampilongo.com/

Luca Benedetti / Guitar - https://www.lucabenedetti.com/

Andy Hess / Bass - https://www.andyhess.com/

Dan Rieser / Drums - https://pyroclasticrecords.com/artist/dan-rieser/

When TONEQUEST MAGAZINE wrote “…another stellar Campilongo record from the fertile mind of Jim Campilongo. How does he do it? Damned if we know…” they were looking at an overview of Campilongo’s fourteen solo releases and commenting on tthe musics growth and diversity. The Jim Campilongo 4 Tet is another step in this evolution.

The 4 Tet is driven by long time Brooklyn collaborators Luca Benedetti (Ron Carter Steve Gadd), Andy Hess (John Scofield, Gov't Mule) and Dan Rieser (Rosanne Cash, Youn Sun Nah) who all bring their sound and style to create a unique distilled power. Their chemistry, focus and mutual admiration is apparent in making this musical unit sound like a joyous army.

With fourteen albums of original material and guest appearances on dozens of recordings -- from the Bammie-winner's contribution on Cake's million-selling Prolonging the Magic to (most recently) doing lead guitar duties with The Little Willies, his band with Norah Jones -- Campilongo has played with JJ Cale, Al Anderson, Gillian Welch/David Rawlings, Peter Rowan, Martha Wainwright, Bright Eyes, Teddy Thompson, and Burning Spear to name a few, has earned two Gold records, and has written music for national ads for National Grid, Volkswagen, SBC, Michelin and Jack Daniel's

NY POST
"Campilongo is one of those New York secrets. A master of the electric guitar, he weaves in spaghetti western picks, blues chords and jazz refs into his haunting tunes, a combo of originals and covers."

TIMEOUT NEW YORK
"New York has no shortage of guitar heroes but few cover as many bases as Jim Campilongo reveals a range that extends from seductive country-swing to atmospheric jazz and well beyond."

with No Quarter – A Tribute to The Led Zeppelin Legacy
Rock (classic)
Paramount Hudson Valley Theater
1008 Brown St
Peekskill, NY   See Map
For over 15 years No Quarter — A Tribute to the Led Zeppelin Legacy has been pounding the Hammer of the Gods to Led Zeppelin Fans both nationally and internationally. This authentic Live Concert reproduction goes far beyond any group of musicians covering the same tunes you’ve heard on the radio for over 4 decades. Any musician can learn a song note for note. However, to do a full tribute with all of the subtle nuances and authentic look and sound and mannerisms is comparable to an actor preparing for a character in a film. In this case the characters are members of the Legendary British Supergroup. No Quarter captures the characters of John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant and brings each individual member to the stage in their absolute Prime. Die Hard Zeppelin Fans and Rockstars they’ve shared the stage with have sworn they were watching the real group live. Hence the word being spread that No Quarter is “The Real Deal” when it comes to Led Zeppelin tributes.
