FOR CURRENT COVID PROTOCOLS PLEASE GO TO www.liveatthefalcon.com
They [Television] were tagged “punk” because of a time and place, but Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd’s guitar alchemy in Television was a lot more sophisticated than just rock ’n’ roll with a sneer at 99mph. Television always fell between scenes. https://www.richardlloyd.com/ With the band Television,, Lloyd helped put CBGB on the map, honing in on a mix of art-rock melodies, angular improvisation and antagonist attitude a generation before the current indie-jam movement. He participated in Television’s 1990s and early-2000s reunion shows, and has toured as a solo act. Lloyd's turbulent career and early experiences with Jimi Hendrix and the Grateful Dead in his 2017 memoir, Everything Is Combustible, was released in paperback. He also continues to be an inspiration to younger musicians like Jeff Tweedy—“One year, his wife Susan called me up and flew me into Chicago to give him a guitar lesson, which lasted all day,” he admits—and continues to create at home in Chattanooga, Tenn. “You can change the past in the now. It’s about perception.” BOOK REVIEW ~ Everything Is Combustible : Television, CBGB's and Five Decades of Rock and Roll: The Memoirs of an Alchemical Guitarist Legendary Rock and Roll guitarist. Founding member of Television. Masterful storyteller. Richard Lloyd s acclaimed memoir is now presented in trade paperback format. Written in Lloyd's inimitable, frequently humorous style, Everything is Combustible chronicles, through vignettes, Lloyd's colorful early life, starting in Pittsburgh and soon moving to New York City, and then details his teenage travels and encounters with music legends including Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy and Keith Moon. Lloyd recounts the founding of Television, the band's rise alongside other bands and personalities in the 1970 s New York music scene, and the legend-making of the unparalleled music venue CBGB.

PLEASE GO TO www.liveatthefalcon.com FOR CURRENT COVID PROTOCOLS!!
Be prepared for a night celebrating the pure joy that music brings and the intoxicating feeling of what a live music experience was meant to be! Featuring ~ Tracy Madison / Lead vocals Mike Menza / Lead guitar Joe Menza / Lead guitar Tim Chanowitz / Bass Rich Sarles / Drums https://www.menzamadisonband.com/ 2021 Winners of the Hudson Valley Blues Society: Road To Memphis Blues Challenge this five-piece powerhouse collaboration is headed to Memphis in January 2022 to compete on the world’s stage in the International Blues Challenge on Beale St! July 2021 the band released their first self-produced album: No Pedals which features their show-stopping fan favorite: Preacherman. Fronted by Tracy Madison with shameless, soul shaking vocals reminiscent of Janis, Bonnie and Etta. Joe and Mike Menza, father and son, team up with harmonic lead guitar work on vintage gear, bringing back that old school tone created with their strict “no pedals” policy. The band is fearlessly backed by Rich Sarles and Tim Chanowitz- the freight train rhythm section. It all brings back the passion, heart and soul that pours out of the music of the 60’s and 70’s. MMB has proudly shared the stage with The Bruce Katz Band, Scott Sharrard & Band, The Jamie McLean Band, Blues legend Coco Montoya and has brought its fearless heart and grit to the streets of NYC to Syracuse and up and down the Hudson River Line. Joe Menza was recently featured on Dion’s 2020 chart topping album: Blues with Friends, alongside heavy-hitters Billy Gibbons, Joe Bonamassa, Jeff Beck, Bruce Springsteen and others. PLEASE GO TO www.liveatthefalcon.com FOR CURRENT COVID PROTOCOLS!!
Roots Rock/Jam Funk artist, Dylan Doyle releases a new album - Pleasures Of The Damned. The title track on this 14- track recording, was released in 2020. Listen here: https://youtu.be/Syoo2wKjqSA Woman Of The Shoreline: https://soundcloud.com/.../woman-of-the-shoreline-master-v1 http://www.dylandoyleband.com/ Featuring ~ Manuel Quintana / Drums Anthony Candulo / Bass Scott Milici / Keys Guitar star Dylan Doyle delights audiences, but frustrates anyone trying to define his sound....It isn’t the 19-year-old’s job to define it. It’s his job to play it. And that’s what the Dylan Doyle Band will do..." - Wisconsin News Based in the Hudson Valley, rising star Dylan Doyle has been performing nationally, as well as internationally. Southern bred, northern raised, his trio’s style of music lies somewhere between roots rock and jam funk. It evokes Woodstock and dips into southern soul; a uniquely American sound. Touring nationally since age 15, Dylan became a seasoned professional while relatively young. He has played with notable musicians such as, Rob Stoner (Bob Dylan, Don Mclean), John Platania (Van Morrison, Natalie Merchant), Ben Cauley (Otis Redding) and Bill Payne (Little Feat). Stoner called Dylan one of the most prodigious players he has known, with abundant natural talent. John Platania has referred to Dylan as “The Future.” Ben Cauley, after playing with Dylan in Memphis said, “Dylan Doyle sounds like a young Jimi Hendrix.” In the words of Bill Payne upon sharing the stage, “Music is a conversation. Dylan spoke beautifully and was listening to the musicians around him. His play was imaginative and original.” Attesting to Dylan’s versatility, Dylan has played the King Biscuit Blues Festival three consecutive years as well headlining the Grateful Garcia Gathering, the largest Grateful Dead festival in the Midwest. He consistently packs houses across Europe and the US.

Saturday 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm | [the whole] Ed Palermo Big Band Returns! | The FALCON 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
PLEASE GO TO www.liveatthefalcon.com FOR CURRENT COVID PROTOCOLS!!
Big Kahuna Ed is busting out the full big band for an Indian Summer Zappa/Beefheart tribute! The world's zaniest large ensemble re-forms the music...with comic diversions, because they can't help it! . "Wonderful, breathtaking, fantastic, exhilarating, great sound, great production, great musicianship...I run out of superlatives..." – paradoxone.uk "[Ed Palermo]...one of the greatest musicians and arrangers in the world." – Christian McBride, American jazz bassist, and six-time Grammy Award winner "Palermo developed these charts during years of live shows with these musicians, and their mastery of the material shows in the performances, which turn on a dime yet feel fierce with spontaneous invention.... Palermo’s arrangements and these performances are precise, dedicated, raucous and incisive—just like Zappa himself." – JazzTimes palermobigband.com This eighteen-piece ensemble - five woodwind players, four trumpeters, three trombonists, two keyboardists, guitar, violin, bass, drums, and vocalists throughout - has been performing jazz arrangements of Zappa’s music regularly since 1994. But what started out as faithfully antic versions of the composer’s complex, fiendishly clever music has expanded to reflect Palermo’s passion for Todd Rundgren, British psychedelia and progressive rock. This often entails head-spinning in-jokes, such as performing Traffic’s 1971 tune “The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys” over Zappa’s bass line for his composition “Chunga’s Revenge.” The Ed Palermo Big Band performs monthly at the Iridium in Manhattan and regularly at The Falcon in Marlboro, NY, where Palermo often scripts elaborate thematic evenings. At one such event, vocalist Napoleon Murphy Brock—a longtime Zappa vocalist who frequently works with Palermo—sang the line “I’m never getting married” (from Jimmy Webb’s “The Worst That Could Happen”) as Palermo stumbled onstage in prison stripes for an evening dedicated to his 34th wedding anniversary. Most of Palermo’s humor, however, lies in the music’s richly textured citations and juxtapositions. The scores themselves are funny. “I wouldn’t call my thing a comedy show,” he said, “but it’s got a lot of humor in it. I often think that jazz takes itself way too seriously. Maybe that makes my thing stand out a little more.” Happy Together: https://youtu.be/0Ft46dKsqvo
Saturday 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm | Bria Skonberg Jazz | Emelin Theatre Mamaroneck, NY See Map |
To most of us, the adventures of trailblazing trumpeter, vocalist and songwriter Bria Skonberg are borderline unbelievable.
“I play jazz because it’s the closest I can get to flying.…spreading joy, relating the human experience, and putting good into the world to counteract the negative. I want to make music that makes people feel, and think.”– Bria Skonberg Described as “one of the most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation” (Wall Street Journal), she recently sang the music of Aretha Franklin alongside Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child, played with U2 at the Apollo, sat in with the Dave Matthews band, was a featured guest with Jon Batiste and performed the Star Spangled Banner at Madison Square Garden for a NY Rangers game. A bandleader since her teens, Bria has performed at festivals and on stages the world over, including New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Newport Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, and over a hundred more. Sunday 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm | Howard Gladstone Singer-Songwriter. Contemporary Folk | Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts Online and on the radio, NY See Map |
Howard Gladstone, Toronto singer/songwriter, released “The Promise” - his sixth collection of original songs in October 2020 , recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown. It is being followed by the “Concord Sessions” in October 2021.
Howard has found his unique voice and a style which he named “Hybrid Folk”, releasing five previous albums since his 2002 debut, “Sunflowers Light The Room”. “The Promise” continues Howard’s musical explorations in a time where meaning and truth become ever more elusive and debased. The album is a balancing act, juggling personal and global concerns, reflecting the angst of the times. “Concord Sessions” continues in that vein, holding a mirror up to human nature, in an age of environmental and humanitarian crisis, and a future we have limited time to shape. If you heard this music in a crowded room, you'd suspect it was a lost gem from another time” –Toronto Star
