The Quiet Village is an annual one-day “anti-festival” of ambient music held in the Village of New Paltz. Quiet Village promotes serious ambient electronic music composers and sound artists, presenting environmental music in an outdoor setting that bypasses the traditional concert format and gallery installation paradigm. This year's Quiet Village, "String Theory", features artists using stringed instruments - from electric and classical guitar to 'cello and autoharp - to create soundscapes along with electronics.  Mike Boschen has made a career playing trombone in and around New York City for over 25 years, consistently performing and recording with world class musicians across a multitude of genres.
For this performance at the Beanrunner, he’s bringing along a group of his incredibly creative and versatile friends to celebrate a return to live music with sonic explorations of jazz standards, groove music, and original pieces. The Mike Boschen Quintet includes Mike Boschen on trombone, Marc Phaneuf on saxophone, Jesse Lewis on guitar, Ike Sturm on bass, and Ray Marchica on drums.
The show will be held outside on Esther Street as weather permits. Otherwise, the show will be inside the BeanRunner Cafe. Masks are required inside the cafe until seated. The Cafe can provide masks if needed.
Suggested donation of $20/person which goes directly to the musicians. Musicians' livelihoods have been greatly impacted by COVID 19. We ask that you be generous.

becoming a folk classic. He’s got a string of critically acclaimed recordings on his own
label and EMI. His most recent solo album, “The Memory Wall,” was nominated for an

2021 Winners of the Hudson Valley Blues Society: Road To Memphis Blues Challenge this five-piece powerhouse collaboration is headed to Memphis in January 2022 to compete on the world’s stage in the International Blues Challenge on Beale St!  Born in Havana, Cuba, Tony Leon launched his singing career with Los Melodicos. He went on to work with the Niño Rivera Group and the distinguished Modelo de Miguelito Cuni band.
Tony was the soloist for renowned trumpeter and orchestra leader Alfredo 'Chocolate' Armenteros. Their album, Prefiero el Son, recorded with S.A.R. Records, went gold. His years with Chocolate included group concerts, where he worked alongside music greats such as Roberto Torres, Linda Leida, Papaito, Alfredito de la Fe, Alfredo Valdes, Jr. and Marino Solano.
In 1987, he became the lead singer for José Fajardo y Sus Estrellas. It was the legendary flutist and band leader, José Antonio Fajardo who gave Tony his title: El Leon del Bolero.
Tony has performed in concerts with Willie Chirino, Ray Baretto, David Valentino, Cachao, Hansel y Raul, Tito Puente and Johnny Pacheco. He continues to delight audiences with his unique voice and mastery of the bolero.

Based in the Hudson Valley, rising star Dylan Doyle has been performing nationally, as well as internationally. Southern bred, northern raised, his trio’s style of music lies somewhere between roots rock and jam funk. It evokes Woodstock and dips into southern soul; a uniquely American sound.
Touring nationally since age 15, Dylan became a seasoned professional while relatively young. He has played with notable musicians such as, Rob Stoner (Bob Dylan, Don Mclean), John Platania (Van Morrison, Natalie Merchant), Ben Cauley (Otis Redding) and Bill Payne (Little Feat).
Stoner called Dylan one of the most prodigious players he has known, with abundant natural talent. John Platania has referred to Dylan as “The Future.” Ben Cauley, after playing with Dylan in Memphis said, “Dylan Doyle sounds like a young Jimi Hendrix.” In the words of Bill Payne upon sharing the stage, “Music is a conversation. Dylan spoke beautifully and was listening to the musicians around him. His play was imaginative and original.”
Attesting to Dylan’s versatility, Dylan has played the King Biscuit Blues Festival three consecutive years as well headlining the Grateful Garcia Gathering, the largest Grateful Dead festival in the Midwest. He consistently packs houses across Europe and the US.

Your support for the event will help us protect and preserve the Hudson River and its tributaries and safeguard drinking water supplies for millions of New Yorkers. Support some “Grate” music for a great cause! Stella Blue’s Band, founded in 2009, recreates the experience of being at a Grateful Dead show. The band has been lighting up the tri-state area with its 6-piece line-up, including two drummers, strong, soulful vocals and high-energy performances. With dynamic jams and artful improvisation, Stella has developed a loyal following with shows that thrill the GD faithful and newcomers alike.
