"Buffalo Stack is an easy band to like.…the band is a cohesive unit…(Andy Stack's) guitar playing is never flashy, but it’s surprising, soulful, and always in the right place. ...he has an engaging, pure voice…here’s hoping the group will build up a strong enough following to be around a while and make more great music." - Vintage Guitar Magazine

"... such accomplished musicality that you know you can love it for the long haul." - Cambridge Day

http://buffalostack.com/

With slide blues guitar, gospel organ chords, New Orleans-style horns, and group harmonies, bluesy roots-rockers Buffalo Stack can’t help but recall Woodstock heroes - The Band. In fact, it was at Levon Helm’s barn in Woodstock where the members originally met, forming Buffalo Stack, who at their hardest hitting and blues-rocking-est recall Black Keys or White Stripes.

Leader, Andy Stack, brings his command of American roots music, his knowledge of the folk traditions from his ancestors’ homeland of Ireland and his modern music sensibilities. Influences from Chicago, to the Delta, from New Orleans to New York City, find their way into the cocktail. He culls the deep cuts for material, improvises solos with a compelling approach to his instrument, and leads the band through a dynamic and adventurous set of original songs and carefully selected covers. The band in its versatility has performed in different formations from duo to big band with a horn section and background singers, consistently bringing enthusiastic audiences to their feet.

As a guitarist, Andy has collaborated as a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and record producer with artists such as Amy Helm, Duncan Sheik, Suzanne Vega, Lucius, Teddy Thompson, Jonah Smith, The Mammals (Mike & Ruthy), Les Nubians, NY Ska Jazz Ensemble, among many others.

Buffalo Stack crafted a lush, soulful, self-titled Roots/Rock album (2014), and released a 5-song EP Hammer and Nails (2016).

"....Noy...channels the likes of fusion godfather John Scofield, blues-rocker Stevie Ray Vaughan, and even the speech-pattern guitar phrasing of Zappa, someone who also knew how to play jazz that just didn’t sound like it." - Jazz Times

FEATURING:
Oz Noy / Guitar - http://www.oznoy.com

Chulo Gatewood / Bass - https://www.allmusic.com/.../emmanuel-chulo-gatewood...

Rocky Bryant / Drums - https://www.rockybryant.com/

He's got an intoxicating blend of jazz, funk, rock, blues, and r&b. Oz Noy was a member of the house band on a top-rated television show in his native Israel for more than two years. The impact of Oz's unique, intoxicating style has broken the rules of instrumental guitar by focusing on the groove. Oz won the highly acclaimed Guitar Player magazine readers poll for “best guitar riff on a record” in 2007. In 2008, Oz won the Guitar Player’s “best new talent.” Noy has performed, toured and recorded with Chris Botti, Harry Belafonte, Cyndi Lauper, Clay Aiken, Toni Braxton, Phoebe Snow, Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts, Dave Weckl, Mike Manieri, The East Village Opera Company, Roger Glover, Bill Evans, Warren Hayes, Gov’t Mule, and Allen Toussaint, among others.

Winner of the 2017 Ameripolitan Music Award for Best Female Rockabilly Artist, and named the “Best Up-And-Coming Band” by New York's Hudson Valley Magazine, Lara Hope and the Ark-Tones are the Northeast's premier Roots Rock n’ Roll & Rockabilly Twang outfit!

For the past year, they have been playing mostly as a trio, performing a virtual show each Monday from 7-8pm on their Facebook page. Prior to the pandemic, they had spent much of the past few years on the road, both in Europe, and in the US, and had the pleasure of touring with some of their musical heroes, including a 6 week national tour with The Brian Setzer Orchestra, and regional tours with The Blasters, and the Reverend Horton Heat.

The band has also had the privilege of supporting some of the greats, including Joan Jett, Tiger Army, Gary US Bonds, Dale Watson, Big Sandy, Wayne Hancock, The 5678's, Jay Leno, and America, and has performed at at a variety of national festivals including Viva Las Vegas, Ink n Iron, and The Nashville Boogie.

Most recently, they were invited to perform at the original site of the Woodstock Festival, Bethel Woods, for the 50th anniversary celebration.

They recently finished recording their 3rd all-original studio album, which will be released worldwide June 25th 2021. Matt and Lara also play as a duo, "The Gold Hope Duo", and recently self-released a very topical album called "Songs In The Key Of Quarantine", which is now available.
