The BeanRunner Cafe welcomes back "A Glimpse of Soul" for their third appearance. This new local band is quickly gaining a following in the Hudson Valley area presenting a volatile mix of classic soul, funk, blues and rock and a sound that makes you want to tap your feet, pound the table and get up and dance. Chuño is an experimental music duo originated by two Argentinian, NYC-based musicians - percussionist Franco Pinna and singer Sofia Tosello - both in-demand as session players and educators, worldwide. https://www.duochuno.com/ Chuño blends the rhythms and melodies of South and Central America, using the “Arpa Legüera”, an instrument that evokes the sounds of a Charango, African Kora, and Asian Koto. Radio Prison is Bill Reeve – drums, David Hamburger – bass, John McDermott – guitar/vocals, and Richard Lobovsky – keyboards/vocals and Erik Blicker – guitar/vocals. All members have deep musical backgrounds. Bill is a conservatory-trained jazz drummer, David was an original member of the band “Sample This”, signed to Electra Records, and toured the world playing bass with Poppa Chubby. John spent his formative years busking around Ireland and Europe and fronted an indie rock band in San Francisco for many years. He is also a John Lennon Song Contest honoree. Rich has been playing in bands for many years and has been involved in several recording projects. Erik is a professional guitarist, a composer for TV and Film, and one of the owners of the Flavorlab audio production company. For Bendy, there have been hundreds upon hundreds of gigs and late night jams. He had been taken under the wing of blues masters Bill Perry and Popa Chubby, and performed with the Bendy Pastorius Group, of which he was a founding member, with brother and bassist Mike Bendy and drummer Julius Pastorius. NJ/NY Metro-area based singer songwriter, Carol Crittenden, has been known to “light up the stage” with her sweet soaring vocals and thoughtful, melodic tunes. In addition to weaving her personal experience and perspective into her work, many of her newer songs are resistance and social-justice-minded. These songs, including her newest single, RISE, have been featured at fundraisers, festivals, marches and local events. She is currently recording songs for her second album. She is also lead singer of Four Celtic Voices with a #1 CD on the Billboard World Music Chart. As a professional Actress and Musical Theatre performer as well, she has worked with the New Vic Theatre of London, performed in regional US tours, and various productions in New York City and Los Angeles. Carol has appeared live on QVC, as a soloist on CBS television and her voice can be heard on national and regional commercials. She enjoys connecting with the audience through live performance. | ||
