Andy Shapiro grew up on Gun Hill Road in the Bronx in the 1950s, dreaming the dreams that came from listening to his sister’s Four Seasons and Beach Boys records. Andy fell in love with the guitar as a nine-year-old listening to his mother strum folk songs, and picked up the electric guitar in the 60’s. Inspired by the Beatles and the Stones, and then Cream and Jimi Hendrix, he left college to become a full-time musician, and toured New England in a Country Rock band playing Emmy Lou, Linda Ronstadt, Hank, Johnny, Merle and the rest of the gang. Andy was part of the Boston music scene in the 70’s and 80’s in the locally renowned band “The Catch,” and then took time off to raise a family. Andy picked up the guitar again in the new millennium, this time to become a singer-songwriter. He released his first CD “Find My Way Home” in May 2018, and his song “Through The Looking Glass”, from that album, won Honorable Mention at the 2019 Posi Music Festival. | ||
