Bob Stanhope is a singer, songwriter, and sometimes humorist who has performed for over five decades in clubs, churches, and coffeehouses mainly around the northeast. Recently he's been featured at the City Center Danbury Summer Concert Series, The Bushnell in Hartford, First Night Danbury, CT, the Putnam County 4-H Fair in NY, the Barn at Quaker Hill in Pawling, NY, among many others. While his more serious material might be compared to Billy Joel or Harry Chapin, his comic / satirical side could be likened to Weird Al Yankovick or Adam Sandler. This humorous side was nurtured during his many years during the 80s and 90s as the morning personality on a variety of suburban radio stations.

The song writers, Jeff Entin and Bob Blum met in a mental hospital in 1972, where they were both Aides. Discovering that playing music together was much more fun and rewarding, they have been at it ever since. When they were joined by drummer, Larry Balestra a few years ago, the unit was complete. We have recently released our first album of original music, aptly named “Pleased to Meetcha”. "The Acquaintances" is a trio playing original music ranging in style from Miles Davis to Bob Dylan, Asleep at the Wheel to Frank Zappa We also do a fair share of covers including everything from Jazz standards to Rockabilly. Director E.A. DuPont’s 1923 silent film, The Ancient Law (Das Alte Gesetz) is about a rabbi’s son who runs away to become an actor and is disowned by his father.
