We have been promising some announcements, and here's the first. We have a special guest coming to Fishkill next month. The band The Slim Kings comes to the Yankee BBQ in Fishkill on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at 7:00 PM. Check out their music at https://www.slimkings.com/. The Slim Kings are guitarist Michael Sackler-Berner, best known for songs on Sons of Anarchy, R&B bassist Andy Attanasio, and iconic drummer Liberty Devitto. DeVitto spent over three decades playing with Billy Joel, Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney. Liberty's drum parts on Joel's records were masterpieces. The Slim Kings have over a dozen primetime TV placements, and they have shared the stage with Los Lonely Boys, ZZ Top, Southside Johnny, and The Spin Doctors. This is great chance to catch them in our backyard.

Open mic sign-up at 7 p.m. Break the Bright Red Chains is an exciting new duo comprised of Hudson Valley folk music stalwarts, Diane Diachishin and Rich Newman. Diachishin has a special affinity for Scottish folk tunes. In the 1990s she crafted a successful debut folk album, Now is the Time for a Song. After a hiatus to teach and raise her kids, she has returned to the stage, to the delight of her audiences. Rich Newman is a journeyman on the Hudson Valley open mic circuit whose songs include memorable musings on love, loss and longevity, all of which were, as he puts it, "carefully extracted from the lint filter of my heart." Together as Break the Bright Red Chains, Diachishin and Newman perform their original songs, traditional tunes, classic country hits, contemporary folk and Americana, and parodies.

"The Doo Wop Project is street corner singing for a whole new generation. Their show begins at the beginning, tracing the evolution of Doo Wop-from the classic sound of five guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today. Throughout the show, DWP takes you on a journey from foundational tunes of groups like the Crests, Belmonts, and Flamingos right through their influences on the sounds of Smokey Robinson, the Temptations, and the Four Seasons...all the way to Michael Jackson, Jason Mraz, and Amy Winehouse.Featuring current and former stars of Broadway’s smash hits Jersey Boys and Motown: The Musical, along with their hot band, The Doo Wop Project brings unparalleled authenticity of sound and vocal excellence to recreate — and in some cases reimagine — some of the greatest music in American pop and rock history. Between them, these five young performers count various Tony Awards, Grammy nominations, and other accolades to their names.Enjoy a nigh
