Easter Sunday Brunch
with D Major Project, Debbie Major, Akie Bermiss, Ken McGloin, Jon Bates
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
The D Major Project features a brilliant collaboration of musicians who approach their repertoire from a wide, eclectic mix of influences. Often referred to as “an improvisational jazz group”, that describes only one aspect of their music. More acurately, The D Major Project performs everything from folk to jazz to classic soul, latin, neo-funk, world beat, roots and pop music, in their own unorthodox way! Popular songs from every era, genre and style, are rewritten, re-arranged, reharmonized and rhythmically transformed into fun, quirky, original, if not unique, renditions.

Centered around the mesmerizing vocal stylings of DEBBIE MAJOR (“DMajor”) the sound is enhanced by the extraordinary talents of KEN McGLOIN (guitar & ukulele), AKIE BERMISS (piano, keyboards & vocals), and JON BATES (drums & percussion).

RIVER SPIRIT MUSIC HOUSE CONCERTS
Hastings-on-Hudson, NY   See Map
With her Red House Records debut release, Call It My Garden, Carrie Elkin has emerged as one of the defining new voices in the world of Texas singer-songwriters, being celebrated by Texas Music Magazine as one of their artists of the year.  The voice, the stories, the images, the grace and infectious enthusiasm, it's a complete package.  But it's the power of her live performances that really have been creating an incredible buzz around this young artist.  Maverick Magazine said it best, after a recent festival performance: "I have never seen a performer so in love with the act of singing. That's the gospel truth. Onstage, Elkin was simply a force of nature."

Croton on Hudson, NY   See Map
After taking a year off to work on a few things (like the new record) I'm bringing the Singer Songwriter series back to the all new, even more music friendly Green Growler. We'll kick off this series with the return of Paul Anthony, who was on the closing bill of the last show we did, so I thought it was only appropriate to have him open the series back up. And I'm THRILLED to have Emily Duff on the bill- She's going to be doing songs from her new album "Maybe In The Morning". Read this article, and get to the Growler on Thursday. This is one great album and I can't wait to hear her perform. We'll be at 4 Croton Point Ave. and we'll kick off around 7:30 or so. No Cover. Great Beer. Great Music.

Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts
149 Girdle Ridge Rd
Katonah, NY   See Map
Roots Music in the Music Room returns this spring to continue infusing the historic Rosen House with the sights and sounds of a uniquely American tradition.

Darlingside (Don Mitchell, Auyon Mukharji, Harris Paseltiner, and David Senft) are a Massachusetts-based ensemble whose sound is an eclectic blend of 60s folk, clever wry wit, classical arrangements, soaring harmonies, and a modern indie-rock sensibility. The four vocalists and multi-instrumentalists construct every piece collaboratively, pooling ideas so that each song bears the imprint of four different writing voices. Playful vocal permutations swing from four-part unison to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young-inspired group harmonies, underpinned by rich, carefully crafted soundscapes.

Lula Wiles opens for Darlingside, returning to Caramoor after capturing hearts at the 2016 American Roots Music Festival. This Boston by way of Maine band features closely woven harmonies, the chemistry of good friends, and musical prowess.
