A very special creative showcase - Hudson Valley Singer / Songwriters convene at The Falcon Underground every first Wednesday. Each month selected songwriters will be announced, by our Host, Casey Erdmann and in Falcon promos. Interested artists may contact: caseyerdmann@gmail.com After years spent “lost in the wilderness” of music and commerce ( i.e. building and running a music venue in Larchmont, NY, the famed Watercolor Cafe), Bruce T. Carroll has returned to his roots and his first and abiding love: lyric songwriting. Songwriter, guitarist, and award-winning artist/graphic designer, Phil Butta, has performed music throughout NYC since the late 60s. For this visit to the Sessions, Phil brings a trio of superb musicians: Jonathan Perls (piano), Vyts Lauralitis (bass), and Steve Dee (drums). Born into a musical family, Host Casey Erdmann has been living and playing music in the Hudson Valley for 10 years.

Friday 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm | Jane Lee Hooker Band | The FALCON 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
With double lead guitars, a heavy rhythm section, and soul-scouring vocals, JLH honors the likes of Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Johnny Winter, Big Mama Thornton, and other blues greats. Nominated for The Deli’s Best of 2014 Poll for Emerging NYC Artists, JLH is a blistering blues monster capable of whispering in your ear before stomping on your heart. So how’d this gang of pros find each other? Guitarists Hightop and Tina honed their love of blazing dual leads in Helldorado in the ’90s. From there, Hightop joined Nashville Pussy, Tina joined Bad Wizard, and both toured the world. But they missed the rush of trading guitar solos with one another, leaving audiences howling with joy. They recruited Mary, who played bass with Hightop in the punk band the Wives. Drummer, Cool Whip got the nod before she even finished slamming out the first song of her audition. And no singer in the entire city can bring a crowd to its knees harder or faster than Dana Danger Athens.
Friday 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm | Opening Act with Long is the Walk, Jeremy Harman, Joey Pierog, Jens Ellerhold | The FALCON 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
Long Is The Walk, the solo project of Boston-based cellist, singer-songwriter and composer Jeremy Harman has released their debut album Spirits and Ghosts, a hypnotic collection of songs and virtuosic instrumentals weaving the coming-of-age tales of an individual struggling to hold on to dreams and purpose as the naivete of youth fades and is replaced by an obsession with the finite nature of time and of life. Harman’s music has been heard in concert halls worldwide as the cellist of the Sirius Quartet, a string quartet who writes and performs original multi-genre instrumental music. After working as a freelance cellist and sharing the stage with artists Peter Gabriel, Sting, Lady Gaga, Bobby McFerrin, DeVotchKa and John Williams, Harman has stepped out as a songwriter and created a sonic realm both earthy and ethereal, set against a backdrop of the tight jazz-tinged rhythm section. The end result is a dream-like mixture in which raw grit gives way to atmospheric beauty.
