4-time All-Ireland Fiddle Champion, Dylan was a student of the great Rose Flanagan (the original fiddler in Cherish the Ladies) and counts Joanie Madden, Brian Conway, Mike McHale, and Monsignor Charlie Coen among his primary influences. He is a vibrant stylist whose playing has been called “impeccable and spirited.” Dylan has performed at Lincoln Center, Joanie Madden’s Folk N’ Irish Cruise, Austin Celtic Festival, at Gracie Mansion for NYC Mayor Bloomberg, on Jay Unger’s Dancing On the Air show on WAMC, also Foley has been featured on Irish Television channels RTE and TG4’s fleadh programme. At age 12, Dylan made an appearance on the HBO special “The Music In Me”. Wiithe the help of Irish Aid, In january 2013, Foley travelled with Dr. Mick Moloney (NYU Ethnomusicologist and Folklorist) to Vietnam in order to bring Irish music, song, dance and culture to those who were effected by Agent Orange and other Vietnam War atrocities.

Kirk was a one-of-a-kind musician, personality, satirist, and windmill-slayer who despite being blind, becoming paralyzed, and facing America’s racial injustices – did not relent. His life’s work was exploring sound and making music. Beyond that, he was an outspoken activist who started a political movement to get more exposure for jazz in America – particularly on TV. Dreams were important to Rahsaan. They planted the seed in his mind to play three horns simultaneously. His name came from dreams. When asked about his religious beliefs, he would say: I’m from the Religion of Dreams. At the age of 40, Rahsaan suffered a stroke which left him half paralyzed. Despite this, he continued to tour and play music, with the use of only one hand, literally, until the day he died. 2014. 1h28m.

The band consists of Brian Hollander, vocals and guitar; Tim Kapeluck, vocals and mandolin; Geoff Harden, vocals and bass; Guy ‘Fooch’ Fischetti on pedal steel and fiddle; and master of the banjo, Bill Keith. The band has been together over 14 years and has performed every Thursday in Woodstock for the last nine years. Traditional bluegrass, new songs, some jazz, old country classics, originals by the band and favorite writers like John Herald and Tom Pacheco, all dot the driving repertoire that is marked by sweet three part harmony.

Jeremy’s trio is rooted in the blues and funky soul-jazz sounds of the late 1960s (think Booker T. and the MG’s, The Meters, Jimmy Smith!) His style is also informed by the current masters of the groove from the jam-band scene (Medeski, Martin, and Wood, Soul-Live, Derek Trucks Band.) Jeremy has been playing festivals and jazz clubs in the New England region since the release of his first album - LOST RIVER JAMS back in 2002. The Eel - available now on Flying Yak Records!!! Jeremy Baum returns with his second album full of funky new compositions as well as original arrangements of songs by Beck, Prince, James Brown and more! Recorded by the fantastic Dave Gross at Fat Rabbit Studios, this album features many of the best and brightest musicians from New York City and the Hudson Valley/Woodstock NY area!

International Jazz Day brings together communities, schools, artists, historians and jazz enthusiasts all over the world to celebrate and learn about jazz. Each year on April 30, this international art form is recognized for promoting peace, dialogue among cultures, diversity, and respect for human rights promoting freedom of expression and reinforcing the role of youth in enacting social change. International Jazz Day will be celebrated here in the Hudson Valley at The Rosendale Theatre on Saturday, April 30th at 11 AM with a concert for families presented by the Hudson Valley Youth Orchestra (HVYZO) and Youth Arts @ The Rosendale Theatre. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children.

Abby Newton, Lyn Hardy, and Selma Kaplan have, individually and together, been playing and recording music forever. Cellist Abby Newton has toured the US and Europe, recorded with several of her own groups as well as Scots legends Jean Redpath and Alasdair Fraser, and is highly sought after as a teacher. She and Lyn have been singing and playing together since the 1970’s. Lyn Hardy is a luthier, singer/songwriter and guitarist who, with pianist Selma Kaplan, recorded and toured with the all women band, Rude Girls. These three women combine their individual talents to perform the traditional music of Scotland and the US with the sensitivity and joy of true seasoned musicians.

After being in and out of the scene for some years, Frankie has released a brand new CD "Cause Of You" , a rocking record that boasts performances by other Q alumni including Tommy Ardolino, Joey and Johnny Spampinato. Many other guest artists appear as well. This man belongs on stage and that's what this evening is all about so put your dancing shoes on and take a trip back in time, or back to the future, whichever you choose!! Geoff Hartwell is one of the area's top slide guitarists, and performs classic and Southern Rock covers as well as original tunes. Geoff has performed with legends such as Gregg Allman, Sonny Landreth, Tab Benoit and John Hammond and toured/recorded with Andy Aledort and Yonrico Scott (Derek Trucks Band). 
BLUE FOOD - Blue Food SPRINGs into action with special guests. Fusing together elements of funk, jazz, and rock, Blue Food developed a powerful, dynamic sound, and quickly became known around the New York City area for their raucous, energetic live performances.

Beacon based singer-songwriter Amy Soucy teams up (in a very rare area appearance) with one of New Jersey's most acclaimed talents Sharon Goldman for an afternoon of "perfectly-matched harmonies, dynamic stage presence and mix of sophisticated original songs and carefully-curated cover tunes." They are joined by guitar-meister (and multi-instrumentalist) Glen Roethel who will bring his own unique coloration to this musical matinee.

When Guy Davis plays the blues, he doesn’t want you to notice how much art is involved. “It takes work making a song that’s simple, and playful, and easy to do,” he says. His parallel careers– as a musician, an author, a music teacher and a film, television and Broadway actor—mark Davis as a Renaissance man, yet the blues remain his first and greatest love. Growing up in a family of artists (his parents were Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis), he fell under the spell of Blind Willie McTell and Fats Waller at an early age.
Scott Wolfson and Other Heroes will make their first appearance at the Townecrier Café, sharing the bill with folk darlings Pete and Maura Kennedy for an evening of folk/rock, pop and dynamic original songwriting.

Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at the controversial, intensely scrutinized World Trade Center with Judith Dupré, the only writer given unfettered access to the Port Authority’s site, suppliers, and archives. Judith will discuss her new book, One World Trade Center: Biography of the Building, illuminating the challenges of writing about a place that is wholly innovative - and, yet, still bound to the past. She will talk about the book’s design, created in collaboration with the cutting edge firm DBOX, and how they accommodated - in a reader-friendly way - an extensive narrative, hundreds of images, two timelines, and annotated aerial maps of New York City landmarks. How to engage the reading public, an ongoing obsession of hers, will no doubt come up at some point during the evening!
