Great food! Great music! GREAT times!

Mitch Katz is a contemporary songwriter with a penetrating vision of life. His crafty lyrics and compelling melodies bring sensitivity and humor to a mix of ballads and blues, with some political observation thrown in for good measure.

Pat Lamanna was told by Pete Seeger: “You should write more songs!” One of her songs, "Peace Pilgrim," is featured in part on Pete Seeger's latest (Grammy-nominated) album, "The Storm King". Pat’s songs are carefully crafted and lyric-driven, with tunes that are eminently singable.

E.C. Lorick is a world-class composer, musician, vocalist, and producer, and I am honored to be sharing the stage at the High Falls Cafe with him on Thursday, March 3 at the First Thursdays Singer/Songwriter Showcase. I play and sing, too. ~ Marji Zintz

Hosted by Don and Maureen Black at the High Falls Cafe, located on the Stone Dock Golf Course in High Falls.

"Her smoky alto is a striking instrument, but the way she harnesses its earthy power reflects a maturity that's also found in her frank songwriting. The result is a combination of polished craft and gut-level emotion that is a knockout, and earns Sicilia the right to comparisons between herself and [Etta] James." - Philadelphia Inquirer

Gina Sicilia’s recent release of her stunning new album, It Wasn’t Real, is a watershed in the already extraordinary career of the young singer-songwriter whose 2007 debut, Allow Me to Confess, rocketed her to the upper echelon of the blues world. Its 10 songs showcase her evolution as a lyricist, arranger and performer as they essay the mysteries of love and fate, effortlessly glide between genres — often within the same tune — and elicit deeply emotional performances that expose the full range of her vocal abilities.

These veteran musicians, to their credit, have performed and recorded with world renowned artists such as Celia Cruz, Pete "El Conde" Rodriquez, Eddie Palmieri, Monguito "el unico", Los Kimbos, and the New Swing Sextet to name a few.

SoundTrax are a 3-piece combo, consisting of two brothers and one daughter who perform enjoyable cover versions of Folk, Irish, Oldies and Pop tunes. Mostly a 4 part trio because our guitarist also plays bass with his feet...... he uses midi bass pedals to achieve our fourth player! They also employ sweet and smooth 3 part harmonies to round off the percussion and woodwind parts. And, don't be surprised if a few zany or comedic antics spring up in the course of a performance to keep things upbeat and enjoyable. They have fun .......so will you!. The open mic portion of the evening is a great opportunity for newcomers and seasoned performers to share their music with a welcoming, appreciative audience. All styles of music or spoken word, folk and beyond, piano available.

The Best Local Country Music Band in the Hudson Valley
with 4 Guns Ridge, 4 Guns Ridge
Country, Acoustic
Elsie's Place
1475 Route 208
Wallkill , NY   See Map
The members of 4 Gun Ridge have deep roots in Hudson Valley music. After leaving the days or their heavier bands, Joey's Throwin Elbows and Mearth behind, Donny Parker and Ian T. Fuller got the itch to start the edgy country project they had talked about for years. Before too long they stepped it up a notch with the addition of another rock and roller Duke LeBlanc on bass and Brother Adam Schreiner on drums. Fronted by Donny and his Gibson acoustic, 4 Gun Ridge plays original gritty cowboy rock the way you like it. The old time outlaw country influence is obvious but, they never shook off their dirty rock roots. Imagine upbeat southern rock played by upstate NY blue collar boys. Good tunes and good times.

“Bodacious-voiced....singer Sari Schorr, whose power vocals are a hybrid of Janis Joplin and Tina Turner, with a touch of a contemporary female blues singer like Janiva Magness....Schorr reached an orgasmic climax on ....Willie Dixon’s classic “I Just Want to Make Love to You,”…transitioning from a whisper to a wail like a car going from zero to 60 in a blink.” - Stephen Hanks for Broadway World

Years of touring the US and Europe with Joe Louis Walker and Poppa Chubby, brought Sari into prominence throughout the blues world. Schorr was recently inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame.

With his 2014 release Live at Jazz Standard, guitarist/singer Chris Bergson has established himself as "one of the most inventive songwriters in modern blues music" (All Music Guide), creating his own blend of blues, roots and soul. Chris Bergson has performed and/or shared the stage with Levon Helm, B.B. King, Norah Jones, John Hammond, Etta James, to name just a few.

Fresh from her Carnegie Hall appearance at the sold-out Lead Belly Fest with Buddy Guy, Walter Trout, Eric Burdon & Edgar Winter, Sari is performing select NY area shows before the launch of her European tour. Sari's new album is produced by the legendary blues pioneer Mike Vernon (Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall, Eric Clapton, David Bowie).

What to Expect: "Sari Schorr is a force of nature, a meteor, a comet, and the blues speak through her...the real dirty sad funny wonderful blues, lives again!  She’s got an amazing voice and sang with fire and grace. Go see her, and hear the living blues again, for the very first time." – DAN COHEN – NYACK NEWS AND VIEWS

“With a powerhouse voice and a band to match this lady will certainly entertain. With whispers of Joplin and Turner, her honeyed tones will raise the roof off the marquee.” – BLUES ON THE FARM, UK

"Sari Schorr has the effortless range and sense of drama to give any song real purpose…" - PETE FENESTRA, GET READY TO ROCK UK

Maine native, Dave Rowe, grew up with folk music flowing through his veins. The son of a member of a popular folk trio, there was always a sort of expectation that Dave would “join the family business,” which he did at the tender age of 15. With fifteen critically-acclaimed recordings and a music career that has endured some 27 years, Dave is one of Maine’s most sought-after folk artists. He firmly believes that singing is balm for the soul, and that singing together—whether in choirs, at pubs, at concerts, or at kitchen parties—is a primary part of the human experience.
