"[Radio Blues, Severn Records] is some damn fine dirty white blues, 100% in the tradition and made by a quintet nodding very heavily back to black origins." - acousticmusic.com

Philadelphia is home to one of the finest blues harp players in the world, for nearly 40 years. 2009 Handy Award nominee Steve Guyger has been dishing out the finest blues. whether in a duo, trio, or with his band, The Excellos, Steve rocks the house with every gig.

Steve has toured with the late Jimmy Rogers, among others, and has played with many of the great Chicago bluesmen and contemporary players, yet remains one of the best kept secrets in blues. The late William Clarke called Steve “the best harp player I’ve ever seen.” Mark Hummel called him “a monster player.” If you’ve never heard him, you’re missing a major page in your blues portfolio.

Adam is joined tonight by Jonathan Toscano on bass & Adrian Harpham on drums.

Adam started recording at 16 and was one of NYC's most sought after session/touring guitarists. He worked with Will Downing, Sophie B. Hawkins, Roberta Flack, and the aforementioned George Benson, for whom he wrote "In Search Of A Dream" from the Grammy nominated album "In Your Eyes", also performing on the album.

Ed Palermo Big Band's British Invasion Christmas! The FALCON

Ed’s interpretation of the music of iconoclastic composer Frank Zappa has brought him wide recognition. His first CD of this material, “the ed palermo big band plays the music of frank zappa”, garnered rave reviews. Downbeat magazine gave it a 4-star review. Palermo’s second CD of Zappa material, entitled “Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance” has been received with equal enthusiasm from publications all over the world, including another rave from Downbeat.

The latest release, 'Oh No! Not Jazz!!' consists of two albums - the first explores Ed's distinctive interpretations of Frank Zappa's work and works from original Mothers Of Invention. Two notable pieces are performed here - Inca Roads, with a vocal by guest Napoleon Murphy Brock contrasts with one of his most 'notoriously difficult' works, The Black Page #2. The second album features Ed's own riotous, colorful compositions, featured here for the first time in over 25 years!

"Mr. Gates is a solid example of a performer who is doing something that no one else does. He evokes an age...when musicians were entertainers and entertainers were musicians, and a sense of humor was as important as a sense of rhythm." Will Friedwald, The New York Sun.

Blessed with a full-bodied and mellifluous voice, extraordinary rhythmic precision and an unerring sense of lyricism, Gates' total command of the vernacular, boundless creativity and exuberant passion sets him apart from nearly every other vocalist on the scene.

Giacomo has performed with Kurt Elling's The Four Brothers vocal ensemble, Lou Donaldson, Freddie Hubbard, Richie Cole, and Rufus Reid, among others; plays the major U.S. clubs, including New York's Birdland, Smoke, the Blue Note, and Dizzy's; tours internationally; and has six highly acclaimed CDs. His most recent release, Miles Tones-Giacomo Gates Sings The Music of Miles Davis, has topped the National Jazz Radio Playlist at #1 for four weeks!
