Łukasz Kuropaczewski Guitar in the Garden
Acoustic
Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts
149 Girdle Ridge Rd
Katonah, NY   See Map
It’s a warm July evening. Lush, tranquil gardens embrace a stone relic of generations past, the Medieval Mount, as a light breeze filters through a tall stand of cedars beyond, hovering briefly among the greenery. You’ve entered the Sunken Garden, a placid retreat at the southeast corner of this Italianate campus and the setting for Guitar in the Garden, a serene and intimate listening experience offered each summer at Caramoor.

Łukasz Kuropaczewski returns to Caramoor for his second Guitar in the Garden appearance with favorites of the Classical Guitar repertoire, a transcription of Bach’s beloved first cello suite and two cherished Spanish gems rooted in the flamenco and parlour music traditions. Kuropaczewski will also pay homage to his Polish heritage with pieces by three legendary Polish composers, Alexandre Tansman, Kryzysztof Penderecki, and Kryzysztof Meyer.

Peekskill, NY   See Map
NOW the 4th Thursday each month! If you're a fan of "Sessions" (and who isn't) you know what a great night of music this is.

Join saxman and vocalist JP Patrick & his band as they play for each other, and for you. The band explores the musical territory of Blues, R&B, Funk and Jazz. Every installment of "Sessions" is unique, as JP often invites different musicians to sit in and perform.

Every month, there's a new dynamic on the stage. It may be a sit-down electric-acoustic night, or dueling drummers, or exceptional harmonies with 3 back-up singers. You never know what MAGIC may happen at one of JP's Sessions, but you will never be disappointed in the calibre of the music.

Tonight features JP on lead vocals, Blues harp & alto sax (and sometimes a little stand-up comedy!), Linda Geiger on drums and Paul Bisbano on bass, with special guests.

Help us pack the place tonight. Live music is truly a gift. And tonight, it's FREE.

In this lecture, with musical examples, he gives us a brief outline of the Ring's genesis and storyline, and reflects on the challenges of putting it on in Fulham in 2014.

Shelley King has been an ambassador of the Austin, Texas sound for twenty years.

King’s blend of blues, folk, country, soul and rock led her to be the first woman appointed by the Texas Legislature to represent the state as it’s Official Musician. She has won Austin Music Awards for Song of the Year and Best Roots Rock Band.

Shelley has released seven albums of original music to rave reviews and radio chart success, and she tours relentlessly performing concerts at venues and festivals across the US. Her songs have been recorded by numerous national and international artists.

“Building a Fire”, her most recent CD, "...is filled with sinewy soul and King’s trademark brand of torrid gospel and blues, it’s her most confident work yet. One where the songs, band, and singer sound comfortable together, each filled with the kind of grace that’s scarce and delivering salvation." - The Austin Chronicle

The Tin Pan Band
Jazz
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Tin Pan connotes a world of jazz, blues and American popular song. The band has created a rabid following by playing music that resonates powerfully because its intention is pure - to make people dance, smile and conjure with the spirit of music itself. On their new album, Hound's Tooth, the band has perfected their sonic vision - effortless, wondrous and festive, feeling much like, as the band describes themselves, Ray Charles and Tom Waits at a Bourbon Street Parade. With Jesse Selengut on trumpet, lead vocals and compositions, Clifton Hyde on guitar and hollerin', Stefan Zeniuk on reeds and boy soprano vocals, and Peter "Baby Hands" Maness on bass and some singin', Tin Pan evokes everything from Fats Waller and Louis Armstrong to Irving Berlin and Hoagy Carmichael. The Tin Pan Band was founded in 2006 by Selengut, a long time New York based musician, and the curator of the Williamsburg Jazz Festival.

Kathy Moser
Singer-Songwriter, Folk/Traditional
Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY   See Map
Kathy Moser has been in love with music and Planet Earth as long as she can remember. Her introduction to folk happened at Girl Scout camp, which led her to the coffeehouse scene. Distressed by her inability to play guitar while sitting on that ubiquitous four-legged stool found on every folk stage, she wandered over for a record or two into something looking a little more like rock. But realizing she missed her tribe, she wandered back to her acoustic roots with a guitar strap and never looked back.

An award-winning songwriter, engaging performer and passionate environmentalist, Kathy is dedicated to bringing positive change to the world through music both on and off stage.

Kathy was the 2011 winner of the Avalonfest Performing Songwriter competition, has received an Honorable mention in the Rocky Mountain Folks Fest contest, won song of the year in the NJ Jersey Acoustic Music awards in 2008 and was a finalist in the 2014 Solarfest Songwriter Contest

Covers, Jazz, and Pop/Soft Rock
The Master's School
Estherwood Mansion
Dobbs Ferry, NY   See Map
Pianist, singer Christine Spero and her group take the listener on a journey through some of Laura’s most memorable work- poignant and timeless. The arrangements are hip, the vocals are beautiful, the musicianship is stellar, and true to Nyro’s originals. Drummer Peter O'Brien and bassist Scott Petito create a rhythm section that keeps the music driving and steady but never imposing.

Live Review from Steve Katz of Blood, Sweat and Tears and the Blues Project

""Christine Spero and I shared a bill at the new Towne Crier in Beacon NY. I knew that Christine was doing a tribute to my old friend Laura Nyro, but I wasn’t prepared for just how amazing Christine’s performance turned out to be. She was able to channel Laura with all the feeling and intelligence that the music warranted, but, at the same time, made Laura’s music her own. A delightful evening all around - one that I hope will be repeated often." Steve Katz of Blood, Sweat and Tears and the Blues Project

Early Warning is a progressive fusion-blues power trio that propels modern blues-rock to the next level. Pete Hoff, host of Uncle Pete’s Blues Party on WNTI, NJ, describes Rhett’s performance as “Musical Lightening!”

Tyler's career spans over forty years of innovative music, blending genres and pushing the boundaries of modern blues. Rhett has independently recorded eight CDs including his latest effort, entitled “The Rhythm, The Power, The Blue” (2013). Following a decade long near fatal battle with Lyme disease this virtuoso guitarist has returned to the stage with a renewed appreciation for life and direction of purpose and was honored in 2011 with an induction into the Blues Hall of Fame as Master Blues Artist.
