Camela Widad
Americana, Singer-Songwriter, and Folk/Traditional
Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY   See Map
Camela Widad is an Americana Folk Roots troubadour: one part poetess and one part mystic, with a voice like honey and fire. Her songs have a distinct Nashville vibe; the hooks feel familiar and the melodies easy. Her new recording 'Warriors of Love' is a little bit old school folk meets 'sit on the back porch on a hot summer night'. Her voice begets a dichotomy: just a little bit saintly and a little bit rock-n-roll.

with Patrick Daley
Acoustic. 6 and 12-string Fingerstyle & Slide Guitar
First Evangelical Luthern Church
325 Mill St.
Poughkeepsie, NY   See Map
The First Lutheran Church hosts a delightful monthly concert the first Wednesday. I am the feature this month, and my set will be about 45 minutes. I will play some acoustic slide instrumental guitar, and other fingerstyle guitar pieces, i.e. playing with one's fingers rather than a pick. There will also be a few humor songs, and two Celtic style finger picking songs with a guest vocalist. I have been to a number of the Lunch 'N Listen shows, and I am happy to be invited to play this time. It is always a fun way to spend a Wednesday afternoon.

The First Lutheran Church is on the corner of Catherine and Mill Streets in Poughkeepsie. Light refreshments downstairs in the Fellowship Hall afterwards.
