Spend an evening before the holidays with the dulcet sounds of early 19th century compositions.
Works of Paganini, Giuliani, Mertz and other composers will be performed on a reproduction Panormo guitar based on an original 1830 model. Historical background of the music, instruments, and composers (contemporaries of Beethoven, Schubert and Rossini), will be provided.
Eric holds a Master’s Degree in Library Science from SUNY Albany, and frequently performs on guitar and lute at public and private events including Bard College, SUNY Orange, Holy Cross Monastery and regional libraries.

Trumpeter and Grammy© Award Winner Brian Lynch. an alumnus of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers and the Horace Silver Quintet, he's received wide acclaim during long tenures with Latin Jazz legend Eddie Palmieri and straight ahead master Phil Woods, and has been a valued collaborator with jazz, Latin and pop music luminaries from Benny Golson to Hector LaVoe and Prince.
At 24, jazz pianist Emmet Cohen, a finalist in the 2011 Thelonious Monk International Piano Competition, plays with the maturity and confidence of a seasoned veteran. Cohen has shared the bandstand with a plethora of musical luminaries, including Jimmy Heath, Benny Golson, the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni Band, Kurt Elling, Terence Blanchard, Dave Holland, Patti Austin, and many others.

One of the era’s most solid rhythm players, Pizzarelli was in high demand, and his superior mastery of the seven-string guitar is unparalleled.
Ed is a seven-string guitarist and vocalist, performing in concerts and clubs throughout the New York area, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Feinstein’s, Smalls Jazz Club, The Iridium, Birdland, PNC Arts Center, Bickford Theatre, NJ-PAC, Berrie Performing Arts Center, and Les Paul Museum.

 Veteran musicians Joe Gil (trombone), Neil Alexander (organ and keyboards) and Jason Furman (drums) have put together a new group called the "Thunderhead Organ Trio". The group is taking the concept of the organ trio in a new and different direction, drawing on many different influences and styles.
The group explores the grittier, rockier side of the genre referencing groups like the original Tony Williams Lifetime and mines the jazz standard repertoire for obscure gems and deep cuts.
The group will be playing original tunes, jazz standards, lost classics and rare gems.

| Brian Carrion has been playing guitar and singing since the age of 5. Brian was born in Brooklyn New York and was taught music at an early age by his father David. He studied music at SUNY Oneonta and has been playing over 10 years in New York City as part of the Carrion and Donovan Acoustic Duo. Musical influences range from Dave Mathews, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, and Paul Simon among many others. Brian met banjo player Mike Perrupatu and mandolin player Ryan O'Shea after moving up to orange county. Mike and Ryan have played together for years touring Nashville Tennessee with influences like Old Crow Medicine Show and The Avett Brothers. Together these three voices sing in perfect 3 part harmony and blend a different mix of instruments to cover all kinds of music from classic rock and bluegrass to alternative and folk. |

 INTZ is an organ trio that is equally at home playing Jazz, Funk, Rock, R&B as well as many other genres. The group features Matt Norris (drums), Jerry Z (organ), and Jay Azzonlina (guitar). Over the years various artist such as Jazz-Fusion legend John Scofield, The Headhunters, rapper Du Kelly, Indie rockers Fishbone, as well as Living Colour vocalist Corey Glover have called upon the skills of these fine musicians.
Jay Azzolina began in a more electric setting and transitioned to acoustic jazz. He has played and recorded with Herbie Mann, Jaco Pastorius, Spyro Gyra, Chuck Mangione, Ron McClure, John Abercrombie, The Westchester Jazz Orchestra and John Patitucci, among others.
Jay has also been a recurring accompanist for singers Michael Franks, Donna Summer, Rickie Lee Jones, Manhattan Transfer and Sheila Jordan.

A collaboration between "Drum Guru" Rob Wallis & Mishti (aka Mishti Roy), Rob Roy includes the powerhouse rhythm section of Anthony Candullo on bass and Alex Nolan on guitar.
Rob and Mishti are each bandleaders in their own right, and Rob Roy is their first collaboration. These two highly regarded musicians have come together to "create a groove and funk that's like no other". Rob performs with many of the Hudson Valley's finest musicians, and is head of Drummers Collective School of Music in NY. Mishti's guitar work has been described as "Jeff Buckley meets Slash with a pop sensibility." Her voice is another story altogether.

 Named for a Django Reinhardt tune, the Rhythm Future Quartet performs dynamic and fiery arrangements of Gypsy jazz standards and original compositions.
Over the years, its four young jazz virtuosos, have individually been performing alongside notable musicians like John Jorgenson, Frank Vignola, Tommy Emmanuel, Bucky Pizzarelli, Andreas Öberg and Howard Alden and joined forces to form this special group.

| Paddy Mills is an award winning folk singer from the coast of Maine. The son of a part time DJ at the local AM country radio station, Paddy grew up in the small fishing village of Owl’s Head. He cut his teeth playing Irish music at pubs throughout New England. These are the elements that inform his writing; from the direct and simple approach of classic country music, the emphasis on melody and storytelling found in traditional Irish music, to the unpretentious attitude and dry wit that stem from a hard scrabble life of scratching out a living where the ocean meets the land. Mainefolkmusic.com described his last release as being “full of finely crafted and masterfully performed songs”. In his latest release Race to the Bottom Mills demonstrates once again that he can spin a yarn, catch a song, turn a phrase and make a point with a wink and a wry smile. |

Larry Campbell, has been a studio musician and respected sideman, playing guitar, fiddle, mandolin, pedal steel, cittern, dobro and banjo. He is best-known as a member of Bob Dylan's "Never Ending Tour" band from 1997 -2004.

The original keyboard player with the 60's band, Country Joe and the Fish, Cohen has played and/or recorded and appeared as a solo with The Blues Project, Mick Taylor, Elvin Bishop, Hubert Sumlin, Melvin Van Peebles, Happy and Artie Traum, Arlen Roth, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Buddy Miles, Huey Lewis, Michael Bloomfield, Kenny Rankin, Bonnie Raitt, Meatloaf, J. Giles and Bob Weir, among other notable artists.
During this Falcon residency, UPSTATE will host a weekly guest to perform their music. Tonight's guest is drummer Lee Falco.
