Woodstock-based singer-songwriter Adrien Reju has coined her own brand of indie-folk-retro-rock with her strong, clear Patsy Cline-esque voice and old-soul quality songs with contemporary hooks. Fellow peer and singer-songwriter Rachael Yamagata says "she is like a bird from another planet who can see directly into your heart".

To date, Adrien has released a 5-song EP, Lucky Ones (2012), and a full length LP, A Million Hearts (2009) to critical acclaim with regular rotation on WXPN's World Cafe with David Dye. She has toured the US and Canada appearing as an opener and band member/backup singer with artists including Rachael Yamagata, A.C. Newman (The New Pornographers), Neko Case, Amos Lee, Gillian Welch, Linda Rondstadt and David Bromberg. Her songs "Heartless" and “The Waiting Room” were featured in the Hallmark movie "Flower Girl".

Split Bill!
with Ben Fields
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
After a chance meeting with Sire Records’ legendary Seymour Stein at a music conference in Australia, Stein offered Fields his business card and told him to look him up if he was ever in NYC. Fields packed up his girlfriend, their dog, furniture and lives and moved from Australia to NYC; showing up at Stein’s office with a 12-track album.

He was signed to Sire in November 2012 and is currently finishing his debut full length, Extraordinary Light. Ben Fields is bringing a style of introspective songwriting pioneered by artists like Nick Drake and Van Morrison back into the mainstream. A stylistic homogeny of Harry Nilsson, The Beatles, Curtis Mayfield, and Lowell George gives his most recent album, Extraordinary Light, a sound that defined an era. Fields sets the tone of the album with 'Swede' - A John Lennon Songwriting Award winner.

His songs breathe, his voice is his own, and his album is respectful of the music he has listened to and played throughout his life.

Our Open Mic Nights provide us with opportunities to meet new emerging artists. Tonight, we feature two such singer/songwriters and we're excited to welcome them to our 12 Grapes stage.

John Longhitano is currently studying songwriting at Berklee College in Boston. "I want to write songs that everyone can relate to." From a young age, John used songwriting as a way of expressing his feelings. Those feelings came through in his first CD, Good Guy Gets the Girl.

Denise Hunt's voice, original music, and interpretation of cover songs are dynamic, poetic, and leaves the listener wanting more. Her heartfelt lyrics and organic melodies blend to create a unique folk sound with an edge. Originally from Cold Spring, Denise has been performing at open mics all around the Hudson Valley and even in San Francisco's Haight/Ashbury district.

Come listen to some cool acoustic music. It's a great way to spend a Sunday evening!

Jazz
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
An evening of homage to Cameron Brown's friend and band mate - the late, great drummer, Dannie Richmond, whose work with, and faultless knowledge of leader Charles Mingus's complex arrangements remains essential to the history of post-war jazz.

Jazz bassist, composer and educator Cameron Brown began his career in the 60s, recording in Europe with George Russell and Don Cherry, who remain life-long influences and inspirations. Mr. Brown anchored some of the most important groups of the 70s through the 90s.

In 1979, Brown joined saxophonist George Adams, pianist Don Pullen and drummer Dannie Richmond to form the George Adams-Don Pullen Quartet. For 8½ years, until Richmond's untimely death, Brown filled the bass chair with these core musicians from Charles Mingus's last great band.

Featuring Russ Johnson/trumpet, flugelhorn & cornet, Jason Rigby/tenor & soprano sax, Lisa Parrot/baritone, alto & soprano sax, Cameron Brown/bass, Tony Jefferson/drums.

Soñando!
Latin
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
The hot, wild and joyful sounds of Soñando have earned them the reputation as the Hudson Valley's premier Latin band. Their spicy blend of music and musicians have performed in clubs, at private funtions, community festivals, benefit concerts, on radio and television, as well as the Puerto Rico Day Parade in NYC, but the band is at home wherever a dance floor can be cleared. Fueled by a fiery rhythm section and high-octane horns, Soñando plays a wide variety of Latin styles from Plena and Son to Salsa and Merengue!

"The name of the band is Spanish for "dreaming" but when the hordes come out for Soñando, they don't sleepwalk - they dance. And we're not talking a few perfunctory head-bobs or butt-wiggles, they dance until they go up in flames, like Tula's unquenchable bedroom in the Cuban lyrics..." - Woodstock Times

New York Uproar
Blues, Motown/R&B
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
New York Uproar brings together some of Westchester's finest musicians to keep alive the high energy, horn driven, rock, soul and blues of the 60's and 70's.

Their passion and energy for this music is immediately evident whether it's a Motown hit, Stax classic or any of the horn driven hits by the classic "Horn" bands like Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears or Tower of Power.

The Band members collective experiences bridge the gamut from Broadway to recording sessions and from cruise ships to regional and national touring bands.

The true highlight of New York Uproar is their horn section. These guys are the "Real Deal" with years of Broadway, Big Band and club date experience. They deliver the powerful sound that only a pro horn section can. Whether it is the unmistakable horn line from songs such as Chicago's "Beginnings" or the Sam and Dave classic "Soul Man" these guys nail it every time!

Admission $15. For reservations call 914-737-1701
Reservations held until start of show.
