Today Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. It is a time for reflection and rejoicing. It is a time for assessment, self-improvement and for planning the future.

In cities across the country, people of all races, nationalities and religions are joining hands to truthfully acknowledge a period in our history that shaped and continues to influence our society today.

All these gifted musicians have a deep understanding and love for Abbey Lincoln's music.

Peekskill, NY   See Map
Ever dreamed of being in a lead singer in a band? Do you love singing into the mirror with your hairbrush as a mic? Than LBK is for you!!

12 Grapes' Live Band Karaoke is like traditional karaoke -- people choose a song from a list and sing when it's their turn-- but instead of a pre-recorded background track, the participants sing with a LIVE backing band, and even back-up singers. LBK is way more fun than singing to a pre-recorded track.

We have over 150 songs on our list, including '70s, '80s, '90s and contemporary pop/rock/soul. The list will be posted on the 12 Grapes Facebook page each month, so check it out.

Hosted by JP Patrick, tonight features Petey Hop on guitar, Tito Wilson on drums, Chris Burke on keys and Artie Walker on bass.

If you have any questions about our LBK, feel free to call: 914-737-6624.

Ed Palermo Big BandThe FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Ed Palermo is not a “business as usual” musician. His Big Band may deliver Zappa, Hendrix, Paul Butterfield & Mike Bloomfield, Todd Rundgren, or one of Ed’s own compositions, with lush turns and twists.

Ed’s interpretation of the music of iconoclastic composer Frank Zappa has brought him wide recognition. His first CD of this material, “the ed palermo big band plays the music of frank zappa”, garnered rave reviews. Downbeat magazine gave “the ed palermo big band plays the music of frank zappa” a 4-star review. Palermo’s second CD of Zappa material, entitled “Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance” has been received with equal enthusiasm from publications all over the world, including another rave from Downbeat.

The latest release, 'Oh No! Not Jazz!!' consists of two albums - the first explores Ed's distinctive interpretations of Frank Zappa's work and works from original Mothers Of Invention. The second album features Ed's own riotous, colorful compositions.

A drummer who sounds like Sting. Two lead guitarists who are monsters. And a long-haired bassist who sings lead and harmonies. Electric Beef is everything you'd want in a ROCK BAND!

Electric Beef plays "choice cuts and cool originals". Songs you love, but don't hear too often. Like the Beatles' Taxman and She Said She Said plus the best of The Who, Clapton, the Stones, Pink Floyd the Police, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Incubus and on and on.

The band features Tito Wilson on drums/vocals, Artie Walker on bass, Sean Frawley (on break from Berklee School on Music) and Hank DeCora on guitar. Tito, Artie and Hank are members of our Live Band Karaoke Band, and if you've seen them, you know what amazing musicians these guys are!

(Electric Beef also performed the night 12 Grapes was on Restaurant Stakeout, so they're kinda famous!)

From the halcyon days of the so-called “Young Lions” of the eighties till now, there have been trumpeters heralded as “the next big thing” or “the second coming of…”

Through all the hype, the New York-born, trumpeter, arranger, composer and bandleader David Weiss has been a light at the end of the jazz tunnel.

Through his leadership of the masterful New Jazz Composers Octet and his own sextet, Weiss has shown his unfailing dedication to the illumination and expansion of the marvelous sixties – from Freddie Hubbard and Miles Davis to the Blue Note catalog and beyond.

In a jazz climate that rewards neo-conservative tributes and exercises in deconstruction, Weiss has distinguished himself - finding flexibility and innovation in music that has it’s roots in the mainstream.

Featuring David Weiss/Trumpet, Myron Walden/Alto Sax, Ben Wendel/Tenor Sax, David Bryant/Piano, Luques Curtis/Bass and Jonathan Barber/Drums
