 Sculptor Sydney Cash mounts a three month ”work-in-progress” exhibition at The Falcon in Marlboro NY, beginning February 2014.
The show will feature Cash’s new dimensional paintings and portraits in space-modulating installations. Some pieces will span the entire width of the club. Some will include the tables, integrating elements of his light sculpture to the surprise and delight of the Falcon audience!
What does this Work-in-Progress mean? It means the show is alive. It will change frequently as Cash respond to the space, the music and the experience on a weekly basis.
Sydney Cash's studios are nearby in Marlboro. With a key to the club, his work-in-progress may happen at any time, day or night. This is a very special opportunity for the artist, whose experimental ideas will be manipulated in continuing improvisation, complimenting the music being performed, and engaging an audience that wants to be thrilled with “all that jazz”. |

 The High Falls Café marks the halfway point in it's current series of "Jazz At The Falls" Sunday brunches with "The Metropolitan Hot Club".
The "Metropolitan Hot Club" is a gypsy jazz band that plays the hot swing of the 30s and 40s. Steeped in the gypsy jazz tradition, the group celebrates the music made popular by legendary guitarist, Django Reinhardt, and jazz violinist, Stephane Grappelli. An impressive repertoire of period music, along with newer favorites and a growing body of original compositions, make for an unforgettable listening, experience. And be sure to bring your dancing shoes!

 Ray Longchamp started banging on a Sears guitar at age 6. Guitar lessons and the Beatles coming to America two years later started him on his musical journey.
His stylistic scope and repertoire are vast and varied. Solo gigs feature virtuoso finger style playing, overlaid lead guitar parts, and warm vocals, with the ability to take requests all night. Duos feature great harmonies, and instrumental improvisation. All styles are covered- rock, jazz, rhythm & blues, country.
He plays with the Allman Brothers Tribute band, The Peach Project, that he founded. He also has been lead guitarist for rock & roll legends and multi- gold record winners, Jay and The Americans, touring North America extensively.

 For more than six decades, the legendary Bucky Pizzarelli has had a stellar career. “The complete jazz musician”, he was a fixture in jazz and the studios since the early ‘50s. The list of big bands and vocalists with whom Bucky has performed and recorded reads like a veritable Who’s Who of Jazz. One of the era’s most solid rhythm players, Pizzarelli was in high demand, playing and touring. His superior mastery of the seven-string guitar is unparalleled.
Ed is a seven-string guitarist and vocalist, performing in concerts and clubs throughout the New York area, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Feinstein’s, Smalls Jazz Club, The Iridium, Birdland, PNC Arts Center, Bickford Theatre, NJ-PAC, Berrie Performing Arts Center, and Les Paul Museum. Cash has been part of The Falcon family since its inception as a legendary house concert venue in 2001, and has continued to collaborate with The Falcon, its mission and its vibration. His optical panels were a permanent part of the original Falcon's permanent collection. Most memorably, a bright transparent structure of red yarn - created in front of a performance by the Kelvin Sholar group - jumping, wiggling and jiving with the music.

Artfully blending the lines between gospel and blues music for a dozen years or so has been vocalist/songwriter Alexis P. Suter, the daughter of a singer, Carrie Suter, who sang backing vocals with Harry Belafonte and Mahalia Jackson. Suter recalls listening to Ruth Brown on the radio and she cites the late classic R&B singer as a primary influence.
The band includes backup singer Vicki Bell and drummer Ray Grappone, the principal owners and sound engineers at Hipbone Records, as well as guitarist Jimmy Bennett, bassist Peter Bennett with Benny Harrison's passionate keyboard wizardry and vocals. They have recorded two albums for Brooklyn-based record label, Hipbone Records. |

 Violist and vocalist Alva Anderson moves easily between musical genres, playing with the Harlem Symphony, Allegro Chamber Ensemble or Sphinx Symphony Orchestra to Jazz in July in Amherst, MA, the LGC Jazz Festival in Brooklyn, and the Saratoga Jazz Festival in Saratoga, NY.
Alva was on tour in Europe with a chamber music ensemble, when late one night at a jam session in a jazz club in Switzerland, a friend invited her to the microphone to sing. It was then that she found what she calls her second voice; her viola being her first.
Back in the States Alva frequented jam sessions throughout NYC; attended vocal and instrumental workshops; and has performed, both as violist and vocalist, with Carmen MacRea, Dizzy Gillespie, Tito Puente, Beres Hammond, Buju Banton, Makanda Ken McIntyre, Grammy award winner Jimmy Seigler, and Anthony Braxton, among others.
This is a performance of the Lady Got Chops Women's Music Festival.

A Bronx native, Orlando Marin is bandleader and timbales player who, along with artists like Tito Puente, brought this Latin style of music "from the street corners to the living room", helping it gain national popularity. The Orlando Marin Orchestra was the first successful band to come out of the Bronx and represent Mambo and Salsa music worldwide. Orlando Marin is the only orchestra leader from New York's golden era of Mambo who still performs regularly. He is truly "The Last Mambo King", and his records continue to sell today.

| Born and raised in New Rochelle New York music took hold at a very early age. Influenced by family music collections of Al Jolson, Eddie Cantor, Bobby Darin, Elvis Presley and countless others, the interest in singing songwriting began. After attending the Westchester Conservatory of Music, the singer songwriter proceeded with a long and diverse musical life that has played a major part in his development. Along with local appearances, live concert performance, and studio work, he has been a partner in recording, songwriting and production with Steve Katz of Blood Sweat and Tears, the Grammy and Emmy nominee Peter Denenberg, and the Grammy winner Rory Young. As a vocalist, songwriter, guitarist, he has spent more than a decade volunteering his time and musical talent comforting hospice, nursing home, and hospital patients, leading him to write, produce, record, and donate a collection of songs to hospice organizations entitled “Behind Sacred Walls.” |

 Sculptor Sydney Cash mounts a three month ”work-in-progress” exhibition at The Falcon in Marlboro NY, beginning February 2014.
The show will feature Cash’s new dimensional paintings and portraits in space-modulating installations. Some pieces will span the entire width of the club. Some will include the tables, integrating elements of his light sculpture to the surprise and delight of the Falcon audience!
What does this Work-in-Progress mean? It means the show is alive. It will change frequently as Cash respond to the space, the music and the experience on a weekly basis.
Sydney Cash's studios are nearby in Marlboro. With a key to the club, his work-in-progress may happen at any time, day or night. This is a very special opportunity for the artist, whose experimental ideas will be manipulated in continuing improvisation, complimenting the music being performed, and engaging an audience that wants to be thrilled with “all that jazz”. |

 Poundcake is truly a labor of love, and was born when it was suggested by drummer/singer Ethan Eubanks to singer/guitarist Teddy Thompson that he should think about doing a project between album cycles that would keep him off the streets and out of the bars. Bassist/singer Jeff Hill was the natural and only option when it came to a bassist, as the three had all just spent the better part of the year touring Thompson's record "A Piece of What You Need". They all share a deep and loving respect for this music that they discovered in their formative years as musicians.
While Poundcake takes the music part very seriously, the live show is a fun time and showcases the rapport these guys share together. They rip on each other constantly in an uncontrived manner. Ethan and Jeff are sometime employees of Teddy, but with Poundcake as a full democracy, all gloves are off.

RoseAnn Fino grew up in the artistically fertile Hudson Valley, on a farm, but close enough to feel New York City's electricity. Her parents were insatiable music fans. When she was five her father put a guitar in her hands and eighteen years later she still hasn’t put it down.
She has just released her first full length CD, "RoseAnn Fino," produced by Professor Louie, that highlighs her songwriting, guitar, mandolin, and crisp vocals. The CD features the legendary Crowmatix – Miss Marie, Frank Campbell, Gary Burke, Professor Louie, and John Platania and is available on Woodstock Records. |

 Touted internationally as "the only well-known woman bassist in Jazz of her generation", New York's own Kim Clarke performs on the Acoustic Bass, Electric Upright and four and five-stringed Electric Bass Guitar.
In her 22-year tour affiliation with trombonist Joseph Bowie and his avant-jazz funk unit Defunkt, Kim wowed audiences from Iceland to Istanbul. Internationally she is noted as "at home in the Ron Carter School of HardBop" and "a dynamic Woman in Jazz."
Ms Clarke has been included in the Who's Who In the Performing Arts, Bass Player Magazine, Guitar Player Magazine, Germany's Jazzdimensions Online Magazine, a number of European magazines and several books on Women in Jazz.
