 Hudson Valley singer/songwriter Willa McCarthy debuted her new band at The Falcon in early September to a standing-room only crowd and everyone had such a good time, we asked her to come back for a repeat performance.
McCarthy has been an active performer in the Hudson Valley for more than a decade, most notably as a member of The Chris O'Leary Band. She met acclaimed and award-winning singer/harp player Chris O’Leary a few years before he became the lead singer for Levon Helm's Barn Burners. When O’Leary launched his own band in 2008 and invited her to join, she jumped at the chance. Of McCarthy, O'Leary has said, "she's my favorite person in the world to sing with."
McCarthy’s vocals are powerful and soulful and her band plays a mix of blues, funk, R&B and rock—including original and cover material—and features Josh Stacy on guitar, Scott Milici on keys, Doug Abramson on bass and Jerry Teters on drums. |

Few up and coming young blues performers walk the walk to the degree of Chicago-based guitarist/bandleader JOE MOSS. One of the hardest-working performers on the Windy City circuit, Moss routinely works up to 28 gigs a month. His sound, a winning mix of blues and R&B flavors paired with original songwriting vision, can be heard blasting out of Chicago venues like Buddy Guy's Legends and House of Blues on a regular basis. His stinging guitar and accomplished vocal style have won him fans citywide. Rupert Wates was born in London.
He has been a full time songwriter since 1992 when he signed an exclusive deal with Eaton Music Publishing. He has written songs in all kinds of styles for all kinds of artists. During the Nineties he worked with Jazz singer Liz Fletcher, recording the albums MELLOWMANIA and LIVE IN THE PARK, both released on the Sanctuary label, and BLUE AFTERNOONS on Mainstem.
Moving to Paris in 2001, he developed his skills as a singer and performer and formed his own group. In 2005 he recorded the album SWEET OR BITTER WINE, his first as a solo artist. The album was released on the Mainstem label in autumn 2005.

 Brooklyn-based group Red Baraat puts on a live show like no other. With their combination of Northern Indian bhangra rhythms, jazz, funk and hip-hop, the band's mission is to spread joy and unity to people everywhere. They've certainly succeeded so far, having performed at the White House, the 2012 flagship TED Conference, Google headquarters, and the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. Hudson Valley singer/ songwriter Jude Roberts performs an evening of original songs, strongly rooted in American, Irish and English traditional music, at the Rosendale Cafe.
Roberts writes artfully crafted originals - emphasizing melody, dynamic chord changes, and insightful lyrics- which are brought to life by a strong, pure voice and excellent guitar technique.
Jude Roberts weaves a graceful aesthetic into original folk music, while staying true to its tradition. Currently making his home in Accord NY, he tours and performs frequently on both the East and the West Coast. Jude has performed with/opened for quite a few noteworthy musicians, but doesn't like to brag about it unless he's encouraged to. He just keeps on writing, playing and performing. It's what he does.

Rogers Hose Company it was home to the second oldest volunteer fire department in New York State; organized in 1794. The firehouse has been meticulously restored to highlight the original brick walls, wood floors and historic grand wooden staircase."

 Mike Clifford wears many hats: solo artist, member of the country/bluegrass band The District, NYC elementary school teacher. His music fuses folk, soul, country and pop. Based in Brooklyn, he has toured nationally and abroad, including several trips to Australia where he is steadily developing a devoted following. His second LP, Stay in Motion, came out on September 28th.
