RIVER SPIRIT MUSIC
Hastings-on-Hudson, NY   See Map
his is Danny's only NYC area appearance this year This is a concert you don’t want to miss.

Danny Schmidt is best known for his riveting poetic lyrics, which have drawn favorable comparisons to Leonard Cohen and Townes Van Zandt for their depth and complexity. And gypsy spirit Carrie Elkin is best known for her incredibly soulful and dynamic vocals, which have drawn favorable comparisons to Patty Griffin at her most powerful, and Nanci Griffith at her most intimate.

Together, the respective strengths they each bring, individually, merge into a much greater whole . . . a performance of great energy and spirit . . . and one that audiences seem to be able to connect with on a multitude of levels, at once: Emotionally, Spiritually, and Intellectually.

Singer/Songwriter Sunday
with Mishti, and, Addie Brownlee
Acoustic, Singer-Songwriter
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Two of our favorite performers on the same stage, taking turns playing original music, and singing together to harmonize, and mesmerize!

Mishti's music has been described as "coasting between a bottom-heavy Zeppelin Rock, Blues-infused grooves, Thelonius Monk-inspired guitar work, and a Nina Simone-style wail-to-whisper." Always looking to cultivate a connection with her audience, she strives to create an experience that grabs listeners emotionally.

Addie Brownlee's voice has been compared to Dusty Springfield. It's Americana, Alt/Country, Singer/Songwriter. "If Brownlee’s voice is of the dust, the earth, then her lyrics are a hard rain..." Addie notes Dolly Parton as her biggest influence. Addie has performed with Martha Wainwright and Addie's song, "Sea Legs" (off her new EP, "East of Leaving") features a cameo by Ms. Wainwright.

Two exceptionally talented performers in an up-close-and personal concert. Don't miss it.

Free Admission.

The Commander (a/k/a George Frayne) formed the first incarnation of Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen in the Midwest. Late ‘60s success in the San Francisco Bay area saw the band recording, touring and producing hits like “Hot Rod Lincoln,” “Smoke, Smoke, Smoke,” and “Beat Me Daddy Eight to the Bar” through “Don’t let Go” in 1975. The Commander is going strong, painting as well as music and mastery of the good-time, get-down-and boogey school of live performance.

George will be upgrading his ongoing (Oct 31) ART SHOW with new portraits of musicians!

with Hugh Brodie & The Cosmic Ensemble
Jazz
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Brodie is a sax player who gets right down to the true nitty gritty. An artist who coaxes every ounce of emotion from his instrument as only a true jazz player can. He is spiritual beyond words in his approach to his craft and even in brief conversation. Brodie emerges as a courteous and affable gentleman - “cool" in the context of an old-school jazzman who knows his stuff like an artisan of another time - the carpenter who can almost taste the sawdust and accurately sense the project that will be his work of art; or the gourmet cook, who no more needs the aid of a printed recipe than a skilled race car driver needs a road map.

Brodie has created two CD's, "Unforgettable Sax" and "Songs For Anu." He has the principles of astral projection to music. This combination of astrology and music has made "Unforgettable Sax" very popular in Europe.

BEST OF HUDSON VALLEY- 2013 READER'S PICK- BEST BRUNCH!
with Soñando
Latin to the Max!
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
The hot Latin sounds of Soñando have earned them the reputation as the Hudson Valley's premier Latin band. This spicy blend of music and musicians have performed in clubs, at private functions, community festivals, benefit concerts, on radio and television, as well as the Puerto Rico Day Parade in NYC, but the band is at home wherever a dance floor can be cleared. Fueled by a fiery rhythm section and high-octane horns, Soñando plays a wide variety of Latin styles from Plena and Son to Salsa and Merengue!

"The name of the band is Spanish for "dreaming" but when the hordes come out for Soñando, they don't sleepwalk-they dance. And we're not talking a few perfunctory head-bobs or butt-wiggles, they dance until they go up in flames like, Tula's unquenchable bedroom in the Cuban lyrics above." -Woodstock Times

Psycho Blues Punk Ugly Biker Funk. What's not to like. Come party with your pals !!!

“This is electric blues with an eclectic and somewhat demented spin. The group’s sense of humor is as much to be appreciated as their hard-rocking, guitar-heavy sound. They sound pretty damn good on the CD, a tight power trio that can get into a driving groove and stay there.” Philip Farber,Kingston Freeman

“The Outpatients are cool musical dudes. The guys make riffin’, rockin,’ fun music that sounds like a cross between Chuck Berry and a funkier version of those early Beatles, or least the Dave Clark Five.” Stephen Israel, The Times Herald Record

with The Police Files featuring, Ira Siegel on guitar, Mike Marble on drums, and Jim Keneally on bass
Rock (classic)
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
The Police Files are an authentic recreation of the sound and energy of The Police; the most musically influential and commercially successful Rock band of the 1980's. Jim Keneally on bass, Ira Siegel on guitar, and Mike Marble on drums have applied their notable talents to what at first was an enjoyable experiment but has become an outright homage to The Police. Their musicianship has taken them to national and international stages... the orchestra pits of Broadway shows and recording studios with some of the industry's most well-known artists. For this project they have harnessed the particular skill sets needed to recapture those of Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland, whose last tour a few years ago grossed over $300 million in ticket sales alone. Come experience The Police Files and you'll remember why you, and millions of others, loved that unique, energetic, thoughtful sound of The Police.
