Heritage Folk Music and the Maury Colow Chapter of Veterans for Peace are proud to present Hudson Valley Sally in concert dedicated to the memories of local veteran’s of the Spanish Civil War.
The Spanish Civil War was one of the most controversial wars of the 20th Century. The local chapter of Veteran’s for Peace is named after Maury Colow, a veteran of the SCW.
“Hudson Valley Sally” is a local folk music group whose members “sally forth” to bring messages of peace and justice. Using guitar, banjo and vocal harmonies, this group presents programs that reflect the themes of peace, social justice, and the elimination of poverty. Their mission is to inform and inspire and they do this in a most entertaining way. |

Greg Westhoff has performed on the Tonight Show and is the orchestra drummer for "Family Guy".  Internationally renowned jazz flutist Ali Ryerson, consistently voted among the top jazz flutists in the Downbeat Jazz Poll for nearly a decade, is on tour with her quintet promoting the release of her most recent CD as leader, ‘Con Brio!’.
The Ali Ryerson Quintet features players well-known for their contributions to the contemporary jazz scene: keyboardist and arranger Pete Levin, a top NY session player & Moog synthesizer pioneer, best known for his 15 year association with the legendary Gil Evans and his 8 year stint with jazz icon Jimmy Giuffre; guitarist/composer Mike DeMicco, long-time guitarist with the Brubeck Brothers; the original bassist from the Pat Metheny Group, Mark Egan, with his unique fretless electric bass sound, and the exciting addition of drummer Karl Latham, a veteran of the European Jazz scene since 1993, now a sought after drummer in the NY area.

 If you grew up in the '60's & '70's -- or even if you didn't -- you are probably a fan of Simon & Garfunkel. We most certainly are.
Jeb and Jock Guthrie, aka The Guthrie Brothers, have been playing and singing together since they were young kids. Performing in a number of garage bands and bar bands, they eventually came to cherish their "natural sibling vocal blend."
"We knew the first time we played a Simon and Garfunkel song that we had a natural and almost spiritual connection to it. Our voices blended effortlessly into that S & G signature sound, and the overwhelming audience reaction to our performance confirmed our feelings. Since that first performance, we have worked to perfect our tribute to these two amazing artists."
Aside from performing S&G tributes, The Guthrie Brothers also perform originals, and have shared the stage with such artists as Lisa Loeb, Taj Mahal, John Mellencamp and many others.

 "In my paintings, I try to evoke the significance of the subject through elements used in the composition, and engage the audience in discovering these elements of the subject's personality. I hope using this technique will offer viewers deeper understanding of the subject. I want viewers to see the whole portrait, but also to be very aware of the words, numbers or patterns used to create the piece. This creates a dynamic tension to engage the viewer in discovering which symbols are used to define the piece and how they relate to the subject. My goal as an artist is to give people a visual channel in which to view social situations. Painting allows me to interact with the subjects of my community, whether that community is my family, my neighborhood, or the community of the world. Perhaps through my paintings viewers can reflect on their own reality."
Nestor Madalengoitia was born in Lima, Peru in 1959. He came to the US in 1986, currently lives in Poughkeepsie, NY.

 Each of the members of Lines of Reason have had illustrious carreers, performing as band leaders as well as playing with such greats as Sonny Fortune, McCoy Tyner, Hannibal, Marvin Peterson, and Clark Terry. These five friends now come into their own, with this exciting and creative collaboration, where each player has equal input.
Bassist Marcus Mclaurine toured and recorded with Kenny Burrell and Clark Terry,
among others, following a stint in the Air Force Marching Band.
Master drummer Alan Nelson, is in high-demand for his intense energy and hyper-sensitivity.
Alto saxophonist Joe Ford has earned a reputation for his work with the great pianist McCoy Tyner.
Trombonist Clifford Adams has been a member of the highly successful R&B band called Kool and the Gang.
And, the force behind the Lines of Reason nexus, is veteran pianist/composer Michael Cochrane, who has worked with Sonny Fortune, Eddie Gomez and a host of other greats.
