"Davis’ folksy and humble stage presence, combined with his humorous monologues, made one feel that this was not a concert, but rather, an impromptu performance on a front porch down in some southern swamp. Indeed, at times Davis had the audience singing, clapping and stomping their feet." --Daily Herald Tribune, Grand Prairie, Alberta

"You could call Guy Davis a musical child of Taj Mahal. But, in truth, he’s the son of Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, two of the most famous black actors of their generation. The talent apple didn’t fall far from the tree but did land in a different orchard." --Tony Peyser, Santa Monica Mirror

May 03, 2011 Magnet Magazine "When it comes to MAGNET’s home base of Philadelphia, we’ve always been a little biased. But that’s not why we’re so excited about Philly musician Suzie Brown. Aside from being a first-rate singer/songwriter (no small feat), she is a Harvard-educated cardiologist with a master’s degree in translational research from the University of Pennsylvania who has also studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and sang in an a cappella group while an undergrad at Dartmouth. (Feeling kind of like a loser in comparison yet? We are. Like most of Philadelphia, we went to Temple.)" Time Out New York "Honey-voiced singer-songwriter Suzie Brown airs the pleasingly frilly, old-school country stylings on her debut album, Heartstrings.” June 09, 2011 Robert M. Kelley - Philadelphia Inquirer "Her songs showcase her smooth fingerpicking and clear voice. Some are ballads with a dash of country twang, offset by the texture of lush chords."

Violist and vocalist Alva Anderson moves easily between musical genres, playing with the Harlem Symphony, Allegro Chamber Ensemble or Sphinx Symphony Orchestra to Jazz in July in Amherst, MA, the LGC Jazz Festival in Brooklyn, and the Saratoga Jazz Festival in Saratoga, NY.

Alva was on tour in Europe with a chamber music ensemble, when late one night at a jam session in a jazz club in Switzerland, a friend invited her to the microphone to sing. It was then that she found what she calls her second voice; her viola being her first.

Back in the States Alva frequented jam sessions throughout NYC; attended vocal and instrumental workshops; and has performed, both as violist and vocalist, with Carmen MacRea, Dizzy Gillespie, Tito Puente, Beres Hammond, Buju Banton, Makanda Ken McIntyre, Grammy award winner Jimmy Seigler, and Anthony Braxton, among others.

It's Hailey, Andrea and Mona's 3rd Annual Birthday Bash!!! Our staff listens to live music four nights a week, and the band they chose to celebrate their special night is BaseCamp, "The Hudson Valley's #1 R&B Experience".

BaseCamp is a 6-piece band that performs REAL, soul-filled R&B classics from Luther Vandross, Teddy Pendergrass, Sade', Mary J. Blidge, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Charlie Wilson, The Isley Brothers and on and on. This powerhouse band features vocals and harmonies that will set your soul on fire. The first time they were here, we sang and danced til we dropped (literally). This is a night NOT TO BE MISSED!!

Make your dinner reservations EARLY for Hailey, Andrea and Mona's Birthday Bash featuring BaseCamp! It's sure to be a monster party. Don't forget your dancing shoes!
