virtuoso, ROGER SPRUNG and his band of friends for a combination jam and
concert. Roger is a national treasure and one of the all time greats who has
played with the likes of Doc Watson among others. Many of his recordings are in
the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. Bring your favorite acoustic

| My primary instrument is my voice, and my guitar embellishes, accompanies, and decorates it. My sound and style are my own. Exposure to music and vocal styles of all types, ranging from standards to jazz to folk/traditional to blues, and to the music of Great Britain, the Appalachian Mountains of Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina, have influenced my sound and led me to describe my music as "eclectic acoustic." I have opened for Christine Lavin and Dave Cousins and performed in Showcases and the Open Mic Finals at the Towne Crier Cafe in Pawling, NY, and appeared in venues in the Hudson Valley and Southwestern CT. I perform a good mix of songs, including my own compositions, covers, and traditional music. I like to tell the stories of the traditional songs I sing and might focus on the song's provenance, themes, imagery, history, depiction of characters, etc. Listeners tell me that they enjoy learning about this traditional music. |

Usher in the season with Kairos: A Consort of Singers’ presentation of Bach’s Cantata No. 62, "Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland." This beautiful Advent Cantata, which features bass and tenor arias and the dulcet tones of the oboe, had its inaugural performance on the first Sunday in advent in 1724. The performance will include Francis Poulenc's haunting a cappella Christmas motet "O magnum mysterium." Concertgoers will also be treated to two movements of Albinoni’s Oboe Concerto in D minor, op. 9, no. 2 featuring Allison Rubin, oboist.
Directed by Edward Lundergan, accompanied by chamber orchestra, and performed during an evensong service at Holy Cross Monastery. Open to the public; $10 suggested donation.

 Bill Sims Jr. - "So much of blues today is about having a good time, dancing, and drinking beer," says Sims. "But I like to present a broader spectrum of the blues because I grew up hearing all of it, and I think it's important for people to be aware of the more complete history of the music. 'I've Got My Mojo Working' and 'Everyday I Have the Blues' are great songs, but they're not he whole story. Many different artists were affected by the blues, and I like to show the relationship between, say, Charlie Patton and Miles Davis, or between Lead Belly and Bob Dylan."
Adam Levy's former "day job" was playing guitar in Norah Jones' band. Not surprisingly, his own music holds some similarities to his ex-boss'. They share certain laid-back musical qualities that swirl jazz, blues and country colorings into the singer/songwriter palette. THE SHOTS have a unique twist to some of the covers and originals they play....“Rocking Bagpipes” - They mix in the bagpipes to songs like The Black Eyed Peas, “I Gotta Feeling,” Billy Idol, “Dancing with Myself,” or AC/DC, “It’s a Long Way to the Top”.
As a matter of fact, Lenny’s original reggae bagpipe tune, "The Rasta Piper" won 2nd place in World Music in the 2006 Billboard Song contest.

Robert Carlson has been hard at work as a songwriter and performer and has opened for the following artists: Johnny Winter, Edgar winter, Ronnie Earl, Roomful of Blues, James Cotton, Sugar Blue (Rolling Stones Harmonica player), Vassar Clements, Treat Her Right, Matt "Guitar" Murphy (Blues Brothers), Luther Johnson, Moses Roscoe, Jimmey Buffet at the Tweeter Center (Bud Tent).
He received two Billboard Certificate Awards for two of his songs on a blues rock CD. One tune got to number 6 on the UK Demo Chart 1991.
Rob wrote 6 tunes for the Caribbean/reggae band Dell Smart and Exit/In's latest CD: "Sure 'YA Right!". Released July 2006. Ronnie Earl and Paul Rishell are featured on separate tracks. This CD has received airplay in Belize City, St.Thomas/Virgin Islands, LA, MD and NYC. Received good recognition from performing on FOX TV 10.

Community Connections” Concert Series at Camphill Ghent presents “Trio Lumiere,” a performance featuring award-winning musicians Klaudia Szlachta on violin, Pei-yeh Tsai on piano and Rebecca Hartka on cello.
The concert will be held Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. in the Cultural Hall in Tourmaline at Camphill Ghent, 2542 Route 66, in Chatham.
Trio Lumiere is dedicated to illuminating the deepest meaning in music both new and old, through powerful, passionate and insightful performance and education of the highest level. Trio Lumiere has performed frequently on stages throughout New England and New York.
This is the third of a new series of concerts that will be held monthly at Camphill Ghent, a vibrant residential elder community, to encourage the development of cultural arts at the center, and promote closer ties among Camphill Ghent residents and the local community.

 The Hudson Valley's most intimate music venue presents a very special evening of songwriters and performers. The first round consists of four extraordinary musicians -- Scott Barkan, M.R. Poulopoulos, John Schmitt, and Caleb Hawley.
The second round will be a presentation of the music of Mark Houghtaling sung by many respected local musicians. Mark wrote the songs for a play called "Exmass" and the music, along with narration between songs, will be performed by Neil Herlands, Kurt Henry, Liana Gabel, Robin Baker, Fran Palmieri, Terri Massardo, Barbara Dempsey, Jude Roberts, and Caitlin O'Brien. The accompanists include Dewitt Nelson, Eric Parker and Caleb Hawley, with Mark Houghtaling on piano.
