The word teitur means the happy one in Old Norse. You probably don't need to know that but you should certainly know about Teitur, the singer-songwriter from the Faroe Islands. Teitur (born Teitur Lassen 1977 in Hoyvík) started out as lead singer in the Faroese band Mark No Limits but after having quickly gained a reputation at home, left the Faroe Islands for Copenhagen at the age of 17 to pursue a solo career.

Three albums later, with appearances on MTV his music featured in TV and movie soundtracks and thanks to his unceasing touring, a loyal fan base, the popularity of his videos on YouTube and a whole host of supportive bloggers, it looks like he is gaining the reputation he rightfully deserves

M R Poulopoulos
Singer-Songwriter, Blues, and Acoustic
Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe
40 West Market Street
Red Hook, NY   See Map
Sweetly melodic and often melancholy, as well as intelligent and soulful, Poulopoulos’s songs, like him, are honest and eloquent. His guitar playing makes you want to tap your feet, or cry a little. Sometimes both. His lyrics, complemented by the steady strum or picked out tones of the guitar, always tell a story — some are sad, some are happy, and some, like his song “On and On,” achieve both with a humorous spin — and they’re always poignant.

His musical influences vary, but their common foundation is American blues and roots music. His many influences lend him to the acoustic singer/songwriter style, but without sounding like anyone in particular—his music is very much his own.

I am Pamela J. Buono, a Hudson Valley songwriter, and a Registered Dietitian and Information/Web Developer/Project Manager by trade. When I’m not working, I love to write and sing folk, inspirational, and gospel songs with an eclectic country, folk, bluegrass, and jazz mix. My songs are from my heart, full of harmony, and inspired by family, scenery, and experiences in my life throughout the beautiful area where I live and travel. I have self-published my original inspirational songs to include folk/country, gospel, and holiday song collections. I’m Susan Dixon, and I’ve been living and raising a family in the Hudson Valley for 20 years. Music has always been an important part of my life. Pam and I started singing together about 5 years ago, when we discovered we both love accapella music. Fortunately, Pam writes her own music, so we have a lot of fun material to work with!

A Celebration of George Harrison

Known as "the quiet Beatle", Harrison was only 15 when he joined the group and, although Lennon and McCartney were "the" songwriters, George wrote some of the most legendary Beatle's songs of all time: "Something", "Here Comes the Sun", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Taxman" to name a few. It was Harrison who first embraced Indian mysticism in the mid 60's, bringing to pop culture the sound of sitar music. His 1971 "Concert for Bangladesh" with Ravi Shankar was the first benefit concert of this magnitude in world history. With 11 solo albums to his name, George left behind an impressive legacy as a solo artist. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

Steve Chizmadia hosted this event last year, and the music and vibe were incredible. Join us as we celebrate the music of George Harrison.
