 Kairos: A Consort of Singers, under the direction of Edward Lundergan, presents a concert version of English Baroque composer Henry Purcell's 1691 semi-opera King Arthur, with full orchestra.
This whimsical tale centers around Arthur's endeavors to rescue his fiancée, the blind Cornish princess Emmeline, who has been abducted by his arch-enemy, the Saxon king Oswald of Kent. It is a delightful and humorous work, and contains some of Purcell's most lyrical music, much of it inspired by French dance rhythms and adventurous (for the day) harmonies.
As was common in English semi-opera during the Baroque era, there were spoken as well as sung parts, and the performance will also feature a delightful narration of the story by professional actor and singer David Rodriguez.
The concert will also be performed on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 8PM at Christ Episcopal Church, 20 Carroll Street, Poughkeepsie, NY.

The audience submits titles of "songs that have never been written". In a fictional "backer's audition", these titles inspire improvised songs in act one. In act two, the audience's favorite song serves as the basis of an entire (45 minute) Broadway musical, complete with costumes and set.
The format received a rave review from The New York Times when it premiered in New York in 1995. You ain’t seen nuttin’ like it, folks!

| Kat Webb here! I'm a classically trained vocalist hailing from Austin, TX, and now residing in the famous and infamous NYC! So what does that mean for you? Well, it means if you have a song that need a female vocalist, either lead or background, for live events or studio sessions, I'm available! Now, don't think that I'm simply a mercenary musician, selling my goods and services to the highest bidder. I'm also currently working my own studio album of jazz classics and standards, so stay tuned.  The coffeehouse consists of an open mic and a featured performer. Doors open for open mic sign-up and refreshments at 7 p.m. Admission is $6 ($5 for Folk Guild members). Featured on November 12 are Diane Diachishin and Frank Tetler. Singer/guitarist Diane Diachishin performs an eclectic mixture of folk, country, bluegrass and British Isles music. She studied Scottish music with the legendary Jean Redpath. Diane has been a past member of the Mountain Laurel Bluegrass band and the Peach Mountain Boys. Frank Tetler has been a member of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild since 1979. He is a self-taught fiddle, mandolin and banjo player, and a member of Ramapo Fault String Band. He brings us the songs of our youth, some we've never heard before, and a sprinkling of evocative instrumentals. The emphasis is on nostalgia and fun, with audience participation encouraged.

Nora Jane, winner of songwriting competitions at Cliffside & Telluride performs in th country-bluegrass style and writes songs based upon traditional folk material. She has a fantastic voice. Welcome to 12 Grapes' debut of "Not Dead Yet", a band that reproduces the sound of the "pioneering Godfathers" of the jam band world. Not Dead Yet's ability to be true to the Grateful Dead live concert experience, while appealing to fans unfamilair with The Dead's music, is what sets them apart from other bands.
