| Guitarist, songwriter Frankie DiDonato first met Gina when she moved into the basement apartment next to his; truly "the girl next door". Gina had moved from her native Bulgaria where she was the youngest performer in the national theatre and instrumental in fusing musical styles. Chasing her musical dreams she met DiDonato. The two began performing Bossa Nova and Jazz standards as "Nova Duo" and the seeds for Nova Columbo were planted. | ||

Dennis Stroughmatt and Creole Stomp have carried the torch of French Creole music and culture across North America, performing a blend of Louisiana Creole Zydeco, Cajun, and New Orleans Swamp Pop. Dennis is an accomplished accordionist and fiddler who learned the centuries-old French Creole fiddling style from fiddlers Roy Boyer and Charlie Pashia and is fluent in Illinois-Missouri Creole French. With their unique mix of both the ancient and modern Mississippi River Valley musical tradition, Creole Stomp is said to be the only band to encompass French Creole and Folk Music from the entirety of the old Louisiana Territory. JAMES DURST welcomes a stageful of artists to pay tribute to BOB GIBSON, one of the most influential singer-songwriters of the golden age of folk music, the '50s and '60s. Bob met Pete Seeger in 1953 and it's said that he bought a banjo the very next day. He inspired countless other folk artists like Peter, Paul & Mary, Simon & Garfunkel, the Limeliters, Roger McGuinn & the Byrds, Gordon Lightfoot, many more. Bob introduced Joan Baez to the world at the 1959 Newport Folk Festival, then Judy Collins in 1960. In '61 he was joined by Bob Camp (later Hamid Hamilton Camp) for the seminal live album, Gibson & Camp at the Gate of Horn. Hearing his 1964 solo album, Where I'm Bound, and meeting him in '65, was a life-changing experience for your host, Westchester-based songsmith. Bob would have been 80 on November 16th. In spite of recessions and hurricanes, 9-11 anniversaries and foreclosures, we’ve made it through another year and come to yet another Thanksgiving. Family and friends are secure. Our area is getting back on its feet after Irene. High Falls Community Church and our wonderful community are still enjoying the blessings of God. Now it’s time to give thanks! This Friday night gathering includes a celebration in song, hymns of praise, and gospel music to honor God and bring joy to His people who gather this weekend before Thanksgiving. The High Falls Community Church Choir will be joined with other voices from the area as well as with the great harmonies of “The Paashaus Brothers” for a night of song. Jessie brings her background in drama as a classically trained actress to bear on her latest record Nocturnal Drifter (2009) merging her new found gift for songwriting into a sound and musical persona that easily arrests.
Helping Jessie keep the flow is the gold record award winning production team Super Buddha (Blondie, Rufus Wainright) and her band The Steves featuring John Kengla on bass, Rich Hinman on guitar, Rob Heath on drums, and Dan Siegler on keyboards—a group of crack musicians that brings Jessie's songs to life.
