It is obvious that the Hudson Valley is fertile with talented musicians, singers and young bands ...and we want to give them an opportunity to show us! With the popularity of such shows as "American Idol" and "America's Got Talent," this is a great opportunity for these blossoming musicians to showcase their talents in front of entertainment industry professionals, and hone their skills on a stage that, for nearly four decades, has hosted hundreds of musicians while they were "up-and-coming," including Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin, Leon Redbone and many, many others. These shows will be held every Sunday, beginning July 10, 2011 until the finale & award ceremony on August 21, 2011.

The first time they performed here, we were blown away. We play their CD on our house stereo, and people constantly ask us who they are. We must be falling in love with WeMustBe.

Singer Christine Dominguez co-authored this year's Grammy nominated hit song "Airplanes" by B.o.B and is collaborating with artists and producers in the Hip Hop/Urban community where her distinct and soulful vocals are in demand. T. Xiques started gigging as a drummer at age 15 and tours across the US, Canada, Europe and Malaysia with artists like Savoy Brown, Dr.Know and Daryl Jenifer (Bad Brains), Colin Hay and Brother, among others.

They call their sound "Organic Pop", a sound they created with their soulful vocals and an assortment of instruments, from piano and acoustic guitar to 5-string bass and cajon drum. We're really looking forward to the return of WeMustBe.

Manhattan Transfer meets Monty Python...Robin Williams meets Bobby McFerrin...J.S. Bach meets Jimi Hendrix: Grammy-nominated vocal acrobats (and certifiable nutjobs) THE BOBS return to the Towne Crier! This original "band without instruments" has been skewering the classics, breaking all the rules and clear-cutting their own unique path in the world of vocal music for over 25 years, playing everywhere from Lincoln Center to Berlin's Passionkirche. To quote one reviewer, "...the Bobs still shine, breaking new ground each time they tunnel out of the sanitorium. The twin keys to the group's creative safe deposit box are unflagging dedication to vocal excellence and utter disregard for everything else."

Bob Cage is the great-grandson of Anastasios Stathopoulo, who founded the company which later became Epiphone. His uncles, and the master craftsmen they employed, created fine instruments, and responded to the specific needs of musicians, promoting innovation and creativity. Bob wishes to honor what they did, by creating his own music on their fine instruments, and to encourage those who continue the family tradition of a devotion to Craftsmanship supporting Musical Excellence.

As a professional musician who lives in the Hudson Valley and has performed locally, regionally, and nationally, Bob Cage has been honored to share the stage with many well-known musicians over the years, including Larry Coryell and Les Paul, and he has appeared twice on Bob Miles' "Miles of Music" TV show. Rhett Tyler ~guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and producer~ is best known for his explosive style of scorching modern blues guitar and high-octane, house-rocking live performances. His music is certainly rooted in the tradition of blues, but Rhett also incorporates jazz, rock and gospel influences to create an innovative modern musical blend with his signature guitar style. Rhett has shared billing with many distinguished blues artists, including Johnny Winter, Delbert McClinton and John Hammond. John Swenson of Rolling Stone calls Tyler "a powerful front man, in the tradition of Johnny Winter [and] Jimi Hendrix. Rhett Tyler is the certain face of future blues."

PERFORMING AT BRIAN'S BACKYARD BBQ, GREAT GUITARIST AND BLUESMAN "LARRY McCRAY"
Blues
Brian's Backyard BBQ
1665 RTE 211 EAST
Middletown, NY   See Map
Larry McCray is one of a handful of talented young blues performers leading the genre across boundaries and into the new century. McCray’s savage blues-rock guitar and warm, soulful vocals have drawn attention worldwide. McCray’s hard work paid off when he became the first artist signed by Virgin Records’ blues division – Pointblank Records. In 1990 1993 saw the release of McCray’s second album, Delta Hurricane, which was recorded in Memphis with the notoriously funky Uptown Horns. The guitarist’s gut wrenching rendition of Warren Haynes’ power ballad, “Soul Shine,” opened many ears to McCray’s talent and diversity. In 1998, Born To Play The Blues moved the story of McCray’s broadly appealing music forward another giant step. Bold, brawny, often dazzling guitar lines are matched with confident, soul-drenched vocals. Understated funk rhythms and crunchy rock riffs

Kenny White is one of the most sought after producers/composers/pianists in NYC. He's written and arranged literally hundreds of national TV and radio commercials, working with Linda Ronstadt, Dwight Yoakam, Gladys Knight, Aaron Neville, Ricky Skaggs, Kathy Mattea and others on tunes indelibly printed in your mind. He has also scored and written songs for many indie and major studio films. His production of Shawn Colvin's I Don't Know Why, from Fat City, helped earn her a Grammy nomination. Amid all his success, Kenny woke up one morning and realized that his real passion may have eluded him ...up to that point. He took his collection of well crafted, insightful & very musical compositions, assembled a group of A-List players and recorded Uninvited Guest, then hit the road with some of his very talented pals. This worked so well and to everyone's delight (including our own), that we're sure you'll be delighted too!

"Somewhere between a smoke-filled bar in Memphis and a hoppin' Blues joint in N'Orleans lies the sound of Michael Bram & The Alternators". Their self-titled CD has been receiving critical acclaim, played on blues radio programs worldwide. Michael "Leroy" Bram is an accomplished harmonica player and singer. Paired with the talents of Chris Vitarello on guitar, Brendan O'Grady on bass and Gary Schwartz on drums, the band is smokin' hot.

For three years, Mike was the drummer and musical director for 2010 Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Jason Mraz, touring the world, making numerous TV appearances and performing at countless festivals. He's recorded with Willie Nelson, toured/recorded with Blues Music Award nominees Dave Gross and Gina Sicilia, as well as with blues harp ace Dennis Gruenling.

In other words, this dude can swing. And man oh man will you dance!

Last chance to catch us at the Water Club this summer! Let's do it and do it and do it, do it......BRILLIANT!!!

THE SHOTS have a unique twist to some of the covers and originals they play....“Rocking Bagpipes” - They mix in the bagpipes to songs like The Black Eyed Peas, “I Gotta Feeling,” Billy Idol, “Dancing with Myself,” or AC/DC, “It’s a Long Way to the Top”.

As a matter of fact, Lenny’s original reggae bagpipe tune, "The Rasta Piper" won 2nd place in World Music in the 2006 Billboard Song contest.
