Rosendale Elementary's Rockin Festival
My tribute to Bob Dylan & the Grateful Dead last week at Aroma Thyme Bistro was such a great success, I'm doing it again here at the winery!

This is the opening concert of this house concert series featuring John Sheehan, a "multi-styled composer/finger-style guitarist/singer/songwriter." John has shared the stage with, guitar greats Tal Farlow, John Hammond, Peter Kaukonen, Jorma, ,John Renbourne, Adrian Legge and Tom Doyle as well as Steve Forbert, Chris Smithers, Jonathan Edwards ,Greg Brown and Slaid Cleaves. There's a lot more to be said about John, and you can read more about him at his web site.
Pianist, Vocalist and Songwriter, Mala Waldron, has shared the stage with Makanda Ken McIntyre, Don Braden, Jeanne Lee, Melvin Sparks, Hilton Ruiz, Bernard Purdie, Warren Smith, and others. She is a featured artist on the CDs: He's My Father (a duo with her father, jazz pianist/composer Mal Waldron) and Lullabye (a tribute to her godmother, Billie Holiday). Her most recent recording, Always There, features guitarist Steve Salerno, bassist Miriam Sullivan, and drummer/percussionist Michael T.A. Thompson. Always There, licensed by Columbia Records in Japan, was voted one of the "Top 20 Jazz CDs of 2006" by JazzUSA. 
The Reddan Brothers are a hard hitting blues/rock trio with the miles to back it. The Reddan Brothers grew up backing legends of blues and rock such as Bill Perry, Popa Chubby and Jimmy Vivino. With their newly released CD “Skeleton Key Sessions” those road miles seem to be put to good use. The group has been seen on such high profile gigs as Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble, Winchester Blues House Festival and the Blues on the Bridge Festival. The youthful energy of the band mixed with seasoned playing makes them a must see trio.

Sung by some of the most exquisite and riveting singers on Broadway, cabaret, and the operatic stages of today. Great fun for the whole family!

Laurel Massé: Very few artists can claim to have started their musical career at the top, but as a founding member of the acclaimed Manhattan Transfer, that’s exactly where Laurel Massé started. With her lush, expressive voice, absolute pitch, flawless diction and ready wit, the statuesque redhead left her indelible mark on the group. In 2004 she was recognized for her contribution to music when she, along with the four current members of the Manhattan Transfer, received the prized "MAC" (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) Lifetime Achievement Award. "MAC" also nominated her Major Jazz Artist of 2006.

Lots of great live music at The Chance's 2nd annual Tatoo Expo. This event kicks off around 4:pm and goes on well into the evening. We hit the stage around 9:00 for a killer 30 min. set.

Patrick Murphy McDowell features the charming and talented JP Patrick on vocals, sax and harp, "tasty" Mike Murphy on guitar and vocals, Dave McDowell on flute and tenor/soprano sax, Linda Geiger on drums, Mike Ventimiglia on keys and Paul Biz on bass. Tonight, PMM is joined by vocalist extraordinaire, Miss Rhonda Denet!

The band members’ musical resumes are truly impressive. On keyboards is the legendary Jon Cobert, a five-time Grammy-nominated musician who was, most famously, in John Lennon’s band during the 1970’s. On bass is Tony Tino, who has toured and recorded with Gavin DeGraw, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Clay Aiken, Ronnie Spector, and many others. On drums is Denny McDermott who has toured with David Johansen and recorded with Donald Fagen of Steely Dan. As a guitarist and vocalist, Chris Fox headed successful bands that played hundreds of gigs in the Downtown NYC/Greenwich Village music scene of the ‘80’s and ‘90’s, including opening for nationally-known acts such as David Crosby. After taking time to work and raise a family in Chappaqua, N.Y., he is back to focusing his energies on music.

The Brighton Beat was formed in 2010 out of a love for afrobeat, old and new. Although it's a new project, the musicians in The Brighton Beat have been playing music together for years. Realizing their common love for jazz and afrobeat, they decided to set forth on an adventurous path, writing their own interpretation of afrobeat-funk in today's modern world. The band takes influence from many styles; everything from Fela Kuti and Antibalas to John Coltrane, and Medeski, Martin, and Wood help spark the creativity of the group. In late 2010, they recorded their first self-titled EP, which has received rave reviews in the jazz-world. Their unique approach translates into an invigorating live performance, combining tight arrangements, fresh grooves, and a very jazz-influenced sound. The Brighton Beat is sure to be a fun, interactive, and memorable show.

The Skye Jazz Trio is led by Warwick Drummer, Steve Rubin, producer of The Warwick Valley Jazz Festival, with Joe Vincent Tranchina, on piano, winner of 2010 Hudson Valley Jazz Musician of the year and Eric Lemon who's worked with James Spaulding and Lou Donaldson on bass.
