It's been a year since Daphne graced our stage, but we still remember the impact she had, on us and on our audience. She's all of 23 years old now, and just released her latest CD, "Because I Can", to critical acclaim. The title answers the question: "Why does she move from a saucy soul/funk gumbo to punchy pop/rock to VH1-ready piano balladry, all before the album's halfway mark?" Because she can. They're calling this CD "the defining work of a young artist who matters." Daphne now lives in Nashville, more committed to her music than ever. Early in her career, Willis was being compared to a young Rickie Lee Jones and a female Jack Johnson. We think other artists will soon be compared to Daphne Willis! We're honored that 12 Grapes is a stop on Daphne's national tour. If you love original music, great musicianship and outstanding vocals, do not miss this performance. **$5 Entertainment Fee or Free with dinner entree** Listen on youtube

![]() Friday 8:30 pm | HIGH IRONS, guest Vocal Soul, with Sasha Klasen-Beecher & Dave Decotiis Americana, Alternative, and Country | Towne Crier Cafe 130 Route 22 Pawling, NY See Map |
You can label the High Irons as alt-country, or country tinged rock, or at-rock, or folk rock. But no one moniker truly fits, and this is the strength of The High Irons. The respect of their musical heroes never becomes parody. The High Irons walk along the shadows of their influences -- Tom Petty, The Replacements, R.E.M, Son Volt, Everly Brothers -- but always try to step out into their own light. "The High Irons romp in melodies and steady rhythms which carve out the traditional country style that is stamped all over this record."-AMERICANA UKMore info at the Towne Crier Cafe
